Olivia Colman Shocks with Yoghurt and Strawberries on Her Crumpet!
Most households could safely agree they like butter on their crumpets.
But for Olivia Colman, it appears not.
The well-known British actress, now 51 years old, has ignited a conversation by sharing that she enjoys having yogurt and strawberries on her morning crumpets.
Clad in a stylish long brown coat, paired with black denim pants and heels, Colman makes an entrance at the Bolton bakeries, disguised as a critic to assess if Warburtons crumpets deserve the title of a “National Icon”.
After several renowned celebrities like Robert De Niro and Samuel L Jackson have collaborated with the well-known bakery family, Olivia Colman becomes the newest famous face in their advertisement, highlighting Warburtons’ commitment to creating top-notch crumpets.
In the advertisement, The Crown’s actress discusses a variety of spread options such as butter, jelly, cheese, avocado, and surprisingly, mustard.
Or:
The actress from The Crown shares her thoughts on different toppings in this ad, which include butter, jam, cheese, avocado, and an unexpected choice – mustard.

She then reveals her favourite topping is in fact strawberries and yoghurt.
The advertisement is based on the fact that 71% of Britons who enjoy crumpets view them as an essential part of British tradition, and 41% believe they hold such importance that they deserve the title of National Treasure and should be preserved diligently.
The research indicates that butter is the most preferred choice for a crumpet topping, selected by 75% of people. Jam comes in second with 30%, while less than a quarter (23%) have experimented with cheese as a topping. An even smaller percentage, only 4%, have tried avocado on their crumpets.
Or, more concisely:
The research found that butter is the top choice for crumpet toppings, selected by 75% of people. Jam and cheese are also popular choices, with 30% and 23% choosing them respectively. Avocado, however, is a less common choice, with only 4% having tried it.
Although some people may find Colman’s disdain for the mustard-covered crumpet in the advertisement understandable, it is worth noting that an unexpected eight percent of those surveyed believe that the zesty sauce complements the traditional British snack quite well.
Ms Colman was announced earlier this month to star in Netflix’s Pride & Prejudice six-part series.
In a new adaptation, Emma Corrin from “The Crown” will play Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden from “Slow Horses” is set to embody Mr. Darcy. The character of Mrs. Bennet will be portrayed by Olivia Colman in this production.
The scriptwriting for this project is entrusted to Dolly Alderton, while Euros Lyn takes on the responsibilities of both director and executive producer, with Emma joining in as another executive producer.
Filming for the series will begin later this year in the UK.
In addition, she’s set to act alongside fellow British performer Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming remake of the iconic Hollywood film, The War of the Roses, due for release in September this year.
