As a lifelong fan of children’s literature and a connoisseur of celebrity appearances, I must say that these stories are nothing short of enchanting! It’s heartwarming to see such esteemed personalities like Dolly Parton, Orlando Bloom, Dave Grohl, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hiddleston, and Eddie Redmayne take a break from their glamorous lives to share the magic of bedtime stories with our little ones.

Olivia Colman has been named as the latest A-list star to read the CBeebies Bedtime Story

In a simpler and more conversational style, the statement could be rephrased as follows: The well-known actress, who is 50 years old, will be reading the beloved modern tale, ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’, penned by Julia Donaldson and beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

The pictured book which was first published in 2004 follows on from 1999’s The Gruffalo.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d say, “I find myself drawn to the adventurous spirit of the Gruffalo’s child, disregarding her father’s cautions and venturing boldly into the wintery landscape on a thrilling quest for the elusive Big Bad Mouse.

Prior to the broadcast, Olivia shared her feelings: “For quite some time now, I’ve enjoyed CBeebies Bedtime Stories with my kids. Being given the chance to read one myself was truly thrilling! I really hope everyone finds as much joy in listening to it as I did.

Olivia’s instalment, which airs on Friday November 8, follows on from Kylie Minogue’s.

On October 18, the renowned Australian personality, who is 56 years old, took time to read ‘Goodnight Moon’, a classic written by American author Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd.

Originally printed in 1947, the narrative unfolds around a small rabbit as it prepares for sleep by bidding a gentle goodnight to each of its cherished items individually.

Regarding her part on the program, Kylie mentioned: “Reading ‘Goodnight Moon’ for the very first time as a CBeebies Bedtime Story was truly delightful.

Just as the rabbit from the story would bid a goodnight to its familiar items before sleeping, I have a similar custom of expressing gratitude to the spaces I’ve occupied by saying thank you as I depart, wishing them sweet dreams.

This will be one of two stories that the Grammy-winning singer has lent her voice to for CBeebies.

Details of her second story are yet to be revealed.

Kylie continues a trend similar to that of Billie Eilish, Meera Syal, and Ryan Reynolds by accepting the role in recent times.

In the latest episode, it was actor Tom Hardy, famously known for reading Matisse’s “Magical Trail,” who made a striking appearance.

Last month Kylie announced a world tour and her upcoming 17th studio album Tension II.

On October 18, the upcoming album serves as a follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed “Tension” (released in 2023).

2025’s global tour will find her showcasing her talent in Australia, Asia, and the United Kingdom. She expressed her enthusiasm by saying: “I can hardly contain my excitement to reveal the TENSION TOUR 2025!

I’m eagerly looking forward to revealing stunning and untamed experiences with fans globally, as we rejoice in the Tension era and beyond!

So far, it’s been an exciting journey, but hold on tight as the spotlight is about to shine bright! I’ll yell “Action!” soon, and you can expect a burst of energy with plenty of ‘Padaming’ ahead!

On Friday, September 27, at 10 am, tickets for the UK performances became available to the public. For additional details and ticket purchases related to the Tension Tour, please check out Kylie.com.

In the upcoming release, Tension II aspires to match the triumph of its predecessor, Tension, a record that surpassed the cumulative sales of the top 20 albums in the UK, claimed Kylie’s ninth No.1 album spot, and earned her a second Grammy award.

The announcement for the tour follows news from the woman with striking blonde hair, who disclosed in June that she’s writing an autobiography detailing personal experiences.

It’s been disclosed that Kylie is planning to share the story of her journey as a global superstar in an upcoming, riveting autobiography.

In a forthcoming book, the multi-talented Australian artist, both a singer and actress, plans to offer an insightful look back at her 40-year journey in music, movies, and television.

According to The Sun’s earlier report, it seems that Kylie is choosing now, while she’s at the peak of her stardom, to reminisce about some past moments.

This year’s BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will collaborate with a ghostwriter to create a memoir, offering readers a glimpse into their personal love story as well.

According to a source, Kylie has reached the peak of her career and believes that now is the ideal moment to share stories from her life and revisit old memories by writing a book.

‘She’ll reveal some new anecdotes and stories and dig out some snaps from her archive.

She’ll discuss her work in music, television, and films, as well as her personal life. The final outcome is likely to spark a fierce competition among publishers for the rights.

How the CBeebies Bedtime Story has become a must-do on the A-list promo trail: A look at the stars using the platform to promote their latest material

The popular CBeebies Bedtime Story has attracted many famous personalities who want to encourage the public’s reading habit by assuming the storytelling roles.

It seems possible that another motivation for A-listers joining this platform is promoting their recent work, as several celebrities seen on the children’s channel use it as a fresh avenue for publicity.

In the process of celebrities advertising their recent album, movie, or book, they often participate in podcasts and television programs. Now, CBeebies is also a part of this promotional strategy.

Billie Eilish is one of the A-lists star to be read the CBeebies Bedtime Story.

On Friday at 6:50 PM, the 22-year-old singer, fresh off the release of her third studio album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” will be reading “This Moose Belongs to Me” by author and illustrator Oliver Jeffers. She’s been promoting the album since the start of the year.

In May 2022, Harry Styles, aged 30, decided to delve into reading his debut children’s book on the program, elsewhere.

One Direction band member harmoniously read “In Every House, On Every Street,” a fitting choice for the title of his third studio album, “Harry’s House,” which coincidentally dropped during his guest spot on the popular kids’ program.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that within just the initial two hours of its release on Apple Music, my latest favorite pop album of 2022 claimed the title for the most first-day streams among all pop albums this year, as confirmed by the platform itself!

In a comfy pair of brown pajamas, the ex-member of One Direction smiled from a large yellow armchair, welcoming everyone: “Hi, I’m Harry! Welcome to my humble abode. I adore it here – you can often find me enjoying music, reading, and spending time with my buddies.

Tonight’s bedtime tale is set in a home brimming with affection and merriment. The title of this heartwarming book is “In Every House, In Every Street,” penned by the talented author, Jess Hitchman, and beautifully illustrated by Lili La Baleine.

Zayn Malik, 31, became the second member of One Direction to join the show.

While advertising his country-inspired fourth solo album titled “Room Under the Stair,” the artist also sang a lullaby called “Music is Everything.” (Or, The singer recorded the song “Music is Everything” as part of the promotion for his fourth solo album “Room Under the Stair”, which had a country-inspired theme.)

He said he chose the book because he ‘loves Bob Marley and because music and reading are both important to me as a parent.’

Malik mentions that his ex-partner, the model Gigi Hadid, and he share their daughter Khai. He also reveals that he often tucks her in for the night by reading stories and singing to her.

In the previous month at the special Glastonbury Festival edition, the lead vocalist of Kasabian, Sergio (age 43), was seen reading on a children’s program.

Last weekend, I was absolutely thrilled to catch the singer’s electrifying performance on the iconic Woodsies stage alongside his bandmates, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter, at that unforgettable festival we all adore!

At 6:50 PM, the 42-year-old Paloma Faith, who graced the stage at this year’s Glastonbury, took a moment to read “The Party Animals” by Alex Willmore.

In the year 2020, David Schwanner from the popular show Friends made an appearance on the program known as Bedtime Stories and read a book titled The Smeds and The Smoos.

Currently, David was actively marketing his forthcoming comedy series titled Intelligence, set on a fictionalized MI6-like base in Cheltenham, where he portrays a daring, ambitious NSA operative.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I had the pleasure of joining an illustrious group of celebrities gracing our screens in the lead-up to the festive season of 2022.

Actress who played in the film ‘Titanic’ has garnered multiple awards, such as an Oscar, a Grammy, two Prime-time Emmys, five British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), and five Golden Globes.

However she still jumped at the chance to appear on Bedtime Stories.

In simpler terms, the book she was reading, titled “Grumpycorn,” written by Sarah McIntyre, narrates the tale of a unicorn yearning to pen the greatest story ever, yet struggling to come up with fresh ideas.

One star who didn’t appear to be appearing on the show for promotional purposes was Tom Hardy.

Over time, the well-known actor from Hollywood has regularly appeared on a kids’ TV station, and there was quite a commotion when he first came on air in 2016.

Tom returned to screens to read I Am A Tiger by Karl Newson with illustrations by Ross Collins.

Kay Benbow, the controller at CBeebies, shared with The Guardian that he and her representatives reached out to them because he had a desire to work with them for the sake of his children.

I am deeply appreciative towards him as he significantly boosted the popularity of Bedtime Stories, attracting audiences who might not typically seek content on CBeebies.

‘I’ll be sharing an enchanting bedtime tale titled “I Am A Tiger,” written by Karl Newson and beautifully illustrated by Ross Collins. This story follows a seemingly small mouse, but things may not always be as they seem.’

Parents nationwide were overjoyed when Dolly Parton graced the screen of a widely-loved BBC program back in 2017.

Dressed in a vibrant yellow biker jacket, the country music star snuggled up in a comfy armchair to read Louise Yates’s award-winning Dog Loves Books.

2018 saw Orlando Bloom set excitement soaring among fans, as they humorously declared they’d watch the show regardless of not sharing his parental status.

In a relaxed position, the actor was observed lounging on an overstuffed chair, his limbs splayed, with his adorable pup Mighty lazing on his body. His delivery of the brief tale seemed to spark some discomfort among viewers.

In 2021, instead of the roaring sound of rock and roll concerts and electric guitars, Dave Grohl, the lead singer of Foo Fighters, opted for a tranquil evening as he told a bedtime story.

I had the privilege of becoming the very first Academy Award-winning actress to grace CBeebies Bedtime Stories in January of 2022.

The actress shared an evening reading of “Extraordinary” penned by Penny Harrison, where she narrated a touching story about finding extraordinary beauty within everyday experiences.

In the beginning of her tale, Reese discovered: ‘At times when life keeps us preoccupied, it may prove challenging to spare moments for observing the surroundings. The sights we frequently encounter can appear quite commonplace. Yet, pausing and peering more intently reveals that our world is nothing short of extraordinary!’

In 2021, Tom Hiddleston charmingly read a children’s book while surrounded by plush toy characters from the book during his appearance on the show.

The Loki star read Supertato, a story by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, as he cosied up in a purple cable knit jumper.

He concluded his reading: ‘Wow that little pea caused a lot of mayhem. But luckily, Supertato was there to save the day! Now it’s time for you to go to sleep. Perhaps you’ll dream of mischievous villains of brave superheroes. Goodnight little peas.’

On Christmas Day in 2017, Eddie Redmayne received acclaim when he appeared alongside a dinosaur named Greg, helping to lull the country into slumber.

Known for his Academy Award-winning roles in films like The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the beloved actor thrilled fans by performing a reading of “If I Had a Dinosaur.
