Exciting News: I recently got a sneak peek at the upcoming summer collection from Nike Basketball’s Kobe sneaker series last month, and one pair that caught my eye was the new Kobe 4 Protro “CHBL” edition. This pair, honoring the China High School Basketball League, has now been officially presented by Nike. The design sports a vibrant yellow color scheme, as I mentioned earlier. A fresh detail to note is the “TOUCH THE LINE.” motto emblazoned on the sockliner. Unfortunately, a release date for this colorway hasn’t been announced yet, so keep an eye out for updates. We anticipate it will drop this summer on Nike SNKRS and at select retailers for $190 USD.
The range of Nike Basketball’s Kobe shoes has grown significantly as they reintroduce Kobe Bryant’s iconic footwear in the Protro (retro performance) version. At present, the Kobe 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 models are being sold, with plans to bring back the Kobe 3 Protro later this year. Vanessa Bryant has given a sneak peek at some upcoming releases, such as an unseen “CHBL” version of the Kobe 4 Protros.
The Nike Kobe 4 Protro shoes in the “CHBL” color scheme have been designed specifically for the China High School Basketball League (CHBL), and are part of a series that honors this league. At present, only one image of these sneakers has been released, but several distinct features can be seen. The upper portion starts with a bright yellow toe and gradually shifts to a lighter shade of yellow towards the heel through a gradient effect. Black Swooshes on the sides provide contrast, while the laces appear to come in both yellow and blue shades, as depicted here. The Sheath logo at the tongue is black, mirroring the black detail on the right shoe’s heel, and tiny specks can be found across the midsole that features a gradient design.
As I’m writing now, the “CHBL” version of the Kobe 4 Protro from Nike Basketball hasn’t given us a release date just yet. Keep an eye out for more information, including detailed images, as we anticipate it to hit stores this summer, available through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
