Official Avengers Doomsday Merch Reveals New Look At Doctor Doom

New merchandise photos for the upcoming Avengers Doomsday movie show Doctor Doom looking impressive. Although Marvel released four trailers for the film over the past few months, Doom wasn’t featured in any of them, despite being the central character. Many fans believe Marvel intentionally left him out of the trailers to keep his appearance a surprise. While Avengers 5 didn’t have a Super Bowl ad, we still haven’t seen Doom’s full reveal just yet.

Jose Obregon shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he discovered a new Avengers: Doomsday keychain at Spencer’s. The keychain shows Doctor Doom’s updated appearance from the upcoming movie, which is set to be released on December 18th.

Looking closely at the Doomsday keychain shows a somewhat blurry image of Doom’s outfit, but his intimidating presence still comes across strongly.

Surprisingly, the first clear look at Doctor Doom‘s costume for the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn’t revealed with a big announcement. Instead, it was unexpectedly shown off on promotional artwork at a Disney merchandise event in China in 2026, hinting at a possible link to two popular Avengers.

This keychain from Spencer’s isn’t the only Avengers 5 merchandise appearing online. A new T-shirt design has also surfaced, revealing a fresh look at Doctor Doom’s symbol, mask, and cape.

While fans have to wait until December to get a full look at Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doom, a brief glimpse of him in the character’s iconic green cloak appeared last year in the post-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Last year, while filming Avengers: Doomsday, directors the Russo Brothers shot a surprising post-credits scene. Robert Downey Jr. actually wore the special cloak used in the scene, acting opposite a stand-in for Franklin Richards, even though his face wasn’t visible.

Robert Downey Jr. is returning to a major action role for the first time since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. He’ll star in Doomsday, which releases December 18th, stepping away from his iconic Iron Man character and into a new armored suit.

Marvel Studios Is Going All-In on Doctor Doom Marketing In 2026

Marvel Studios decided not to debut a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday during the Super Bowl, disappointing fans who expected to see a first look at Doctor Doom there. While Marvel plans to release several new trailers in 2026, they aren’t starting the marketing campaign for Doomsday just yet.

As a huge movie fan, I’m expecting all our favorite heroes – the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and especially those characters with a history in Marvel like the Legacy heroes and MCU regulars – to have their time to shine leading up to Doomsday. While Doctor Doom seems to be the main villain everyone’s focusing on, I’m sure Marvel will give plenty of screen time to the heroes we already love.

Because Doctor Doom always wears a mask, it will be difficult to use his image on things like t-shirts and advertisements. So, Marvel Studios and Disney plan to heavily promote Doctor Doom throughout the year, aiming to make him a well-known and instantly recognizable character.

The studio is doing something unusual by promoting Doom with merchandise and at events before showing off a trailer or poster. We’ll probably see a full reveal of Doom sometime this summer, but right now, the main focus is on releasing the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
