If you’re seeking a dungeon-crawling experience that’s best enjoyed with companions, Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon has got you covered! This guide will walk you through the process of playing this indie RPG in its engaging co-op mode. Let’s delve into the world of Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon Multiplayer together!
How to play the local Multiplayer mode in Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon
Multiplayer Basics: One Device, Multiple Players

In Chronos Dungeon, multiplayer is limited to a single device, so everyone involved will need to gather around one device such as an iPad or Apple TV for their gaming experience. Regrettably, it’s not possible to play with friends online or on different devices at this time. However, if you and your companions are in the same location with the appropriate setup, you can embark on your adventure together.
What you will need to Play Together
For everyone to enjoy playing with friends, it’s essential that each person has their own dedicated controller. This specific game doesn’t allow a combination of touch controls and controllers; instead, everyone should have an appropriate game controller connected to the Apple device. Don’t forget to verify the compatibility list provided by Apple to ensure your chosen controller is compatible!
Joining a Game
After all controllers are linked, each participant can jump into the game by tapping the right key on their respective control device.

- Xbox controller: Press the Menu button
- DualShock controller: Press the Options button
- Other controllers: Press the button usually labeled Start
That’s it! Your character should pop into the game screen as either Player 2, 3, or 4!
Leaving a Game
If you need to drop out mid-run, you can hold:
- Y on an Xbox controller
- Triangle on a DualShock controller
Remember that Player 1 plays the role of the host. If they decide to quit, the entire dungeon adventure concludes for all participants. Therefore, ensure that the host is fully dedicated and ready to see it through!
How to play Online or Multi-Device Co-op in Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon
At present, the developers are not engaged in developing online multiplayer functionality or enabling gameplay across various devices. Instead, they’re concentrating on other improvements. As a result, the only method for playing collaboratively is through local co-op using multiple controllers on a single device.
