Oasis to release a new version of their debut album Definitely Maybe to mark 30 years since it first hit shelves - as HUGE comeback tour is announced

As a long-time fan of Oasis, I can barely contain my excitement! It feels like coming home after a long journey when I hear that my favorite Britpop band is reuniting. I remember their first gig vividly, and to think they’re playing together again after 34 years just fills me with nostalgia.

In just a few days, Oasis plans to unveil a remastered edition of their iconic debut album, Definitely Maybe, as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of its original release.

On Tuesday, it was officially confirmed that there will be a significant return tour following several days of rumors, as the feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have reportedly put their differences aside.

2025 finds the duo set to perform concerts in London, Cardiff, Manchester, and Glasgow, a schedule that’s left their enthusiasts exhilarated.

On August 29, 1994, the band’s first studio album, Definitely Maybe, was unveiled, boasting members Liam and Noel, along with Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll.

On August 30, I’ll be absolutely thrilled to get my hands on the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Definitely Maybe! This treasure trove will feature unreleased tracks that were recorded during the original session at Monnow Valley Studios, as well as outtakes from the iconic album sessions held at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in these untouched gems and relive the magic all over again!

Music streaming platform Spotify has offered fans the chance to pre-save the album.

It will include unheard renditions of Live Forever, Cigarettes & Alcohol, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star.

Freshly blended by Noel, it continues tracks that were recently unveiled – Columbia (Sawmills Outtake) and Up In The Sky (Monnow Valley Version).

Audience members could delve into fresh liner notes penned by Creation Records founder, Alan McGee (the man behind discovering the iconic Britpop bands), as well as Hamish MacBain, a renowned journalist, for additional insights.

You can now pre-order the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of The Definitely Maybe album in various formats. These include Limited-Edition Deluxe 4LP and Deluxe 2CD sets, as well as exclusive colored vinyl versions. The Up In The Sky lyric inspired blue and white marble 2LP and Digsy’s Dinner lyric inspired pink and white marble 2LP are among the unique colored options available.

Apart from digital versions, you’ll also find a special edition on blue cassettes. Regardless of the format, each one offers the 2014 remastered version of the album.

Initially launched in 1994, Definitely Maybe swiftly climbed to the top spot on the Official UK Album Charts, making it the fastest-selling debut album ever, as far as records went back then.

Here’s my take on paraphrasing it in the first person as an obsessed fan:

Following several weeks of mounting anticipation regarding a reunion, the Manchester siblings have ultimately buried their 15-year-old disagreement to declare they will collaborate once more, marking the occasion 34 years since their initial performance.

Anticipation peaked dramatically on Sunday following their mutual sharing of a video, reminiscent of Oasis’s flair, hinting at a Tuesday 8am announcement. Coincidentally, the identical poster popped up on massive screens just as Liam concluded his main act at Reading Festival on Sunday.

This morning, the famed Britpop band officially announced a series of concerts – ones that won’t be broadcast – taking place in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin during the upcoming summer season.

The 14-performance tour spans from July 4 to August 17, starting with a debut at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Following this, the brothers will successively fill venues such as Heaton Park in Manchester, Wembley in London, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and Croke Park in Dublin.

Although there’s talk about Oasis appearing at Glastonbury in 2025, it appears they won’t be taking the stage at Worthy Farm. Instead, preparations are being made for the band to tour continents beyond Europe towards the end of next year.

Introducing the Oasis Live 25 tour, along with their first photo together in years, the iconic band declared: ‘Our battles are finished. Fates have conspired. The long-awaited moment has arrived. Don’t miss out. It won’t be broadcast.’

The Oasis website crashed immediately after the announcement as fans were sent into a frenzy.

The reunion comes a day before the date the band split on August 28 2009.

UK tickets for the band who made “Don’t Look Back In Anger” will be up for grabs starting at 9am on August 31. For those in Dublin, tickets will become available at 8am on the same day.

Fans of Oasis are calling it the “bloodbath of ticket sales for the century” and have sworn they will fight to secure tickets for the event.

Some people are expressing concern that it might turn into a chaotic situation due to the lack of pre-sale links, suggesting that it will be an open sale for everyone.

During a late-night conversation, it’s clear that the brothers decided to set aside their differences and join forces for a £50million reunion tour.
