Oasis release ‘third and final’ tour date in Melbourne after Aussie fans struggled to get tickets amid sky-high demand

As a lifestyle expert with decades of music fandom under my belt, I must say that the recent Oasis reunion tour news has stirred a whirlwind of emotions among fans – myself included. The nostalgia is palpable, but the ticket prices and sales process have left many feeling like they’re stuck in a never-ending queue for Wonderwall karaoke.

The band Oasis has added a third concert date in Melbourne due to exceptionally high ticket sales in Australia, marking it as their last performance in the region.

Fans can grab the additional tickets for the performance of Noel and Liam Gallagher, aged 57 and 52 respectively, scheduled on November 4, 2025.

Due to extraordinary ticket demand, the brothers announced an additional performance date, following Monday’s chaos as Australians scrambled to secure tickets for the initial four shows.

Tickets for the extra Melbourne show will go on general sale October 18 on Ticketmaster at 12am.

On social media, the band announced that they’ve added an extra show in Melbourne on November 4, 2025, because of such incredible interest, making it their final performance there.

Oh, the excitement is palpable! If, like me, you missed out on the initial pre-sale ticket draw, fear not! There’s a glimmer of hope! The general sale is happening this coming Friday, October 18th. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

Supporters showed immense excitement in their comments following the announcement of an additional performance by the renowned pair. Many expressed concern about attending a third show in Melbourne, questioning if it would be excessive.

19 years after their last visit, Oasis is scheduled to perform at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Halloween (October 31) and the day after (November 1).

Approximately 55,000 spectators can fit into the stadium, so over 110,000 music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness the renowned band perform during both concert dates.

After that, Oasis is planning to travel to Sydney to put on shows at the Accor Stadium on November 7th and 8th. Over the course of these two performances, they’re expected to entertain approximately 167,000 spectators in total.

Many enthusiasts expressed disappointment over the expensive ticket costs for the popular concerts, where it was reported that even general admission tickets could reach up to $300 per person.

In response to criticisms about escalating ticket prices, Live Nation’s chairperson, Coppel, argued that the price increase is consistent with what happens in all industries during a cost-of-living crunch.

‘He stated that the typical ticket cost for a live show in Australia back in 2004 was $75. Fast forward to last year, and the average ticket price had risen to $128. The interesting observation he made is that not many other things have seen such a significant price increase over the past twenty years.’

Out of the total 2,700 live venues in Australia, we represent only six of them, which means we’re considered one of the smaller ticketing companies in the market. In fact, even Ticketmaster is smaller compared to Ticketek in our specific market.

During the pre-sale event at the Oasis, fans turned to a platform once called Twitter to express their annoyance about what they perceived as high ticket prices – the highest they’ve ever seen.

Journalist Andrew Fenton wrote on platform X, “Oasis concert: These are by far the priciest tickets I’ve ever purchased. The ticket line is a high-pressure sales technique.

‘Did anyone get presale Oasis GA tickets in Melbourne that weren’t $330?’ another person wrote.

One person complained that they went to checkout with two tickets for the Melbourne show and then received an error message that ‘put me back in the queue behind 20K people’.

‘Is this a joke?’ they wrote on X.

As a devoted fan, I found myself among countless others who were left disappointed and bereft when tickets for the eagerly awaited 17-date UK reunion tour by Oasis sold out in just a few hours, leaving us all struggling in the digital scramble.

Approximately 14 million enthusiasts endured waiting lines for eight hours as they tried to secure tickets for the popular rock band’s concert. Regrettably, even with such persistence, a significant number of them were ultimately unable to obtain the coveted passes.

Even though some people successfully bought tickets, numerous others ended up paying significantly more due to rising prices that nearly doubled within just a few hours thanks to dynamic pricing tactics.

In simpler terms, the Gallagher brothers offered more chances to see them perform at Wembley through a phased, exclusive draw, yet some fans felt let down because they hadn’t been selected to purchase tickets, even though they had waited for hours during the initial sale.

In the ’90s, Oasis skyrocketed to international fame, and their first album, Definitely Maybe, set a record as the swiftest-selling debut album ever released in Britain.

The next year saw the release of What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, an album that included chart-topping songs like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, and Champagne Supernova. After its debut, Wonderwall remained at the top of the ARIA Top 10 charts for a staggering 11 consecutive weeks.

In the 90s, when they were at the peak of their popularity, Oasis made a stop in Australia during their Be Here Now Tour in 1998, following their worldwide chart-topping triumphs.

They thrilled their fans once more by visiting Australia during the 2001 Heathen Chemistry Tour, and they returned yet again towards the end of 2005 for the Don’t Believe the Truth Tour.

In 2009, during the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, the band notoriously decided to disband following a heated disagreement backstage.
