Oasis legend Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs is diagnosed with prostate cancer and says he will take a break from the band’s worldwide reunion tour

Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs has shared that he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Because of this, he will unfortunately have to miss some of the band’s upcoming reunion shows while he receives treatment.

The legendary guitarist, 60, shared the devastating news with fans in a post on X this evening.

Bonehead said he had received the diagnosis earlier this year and was responding well to treatment.

However, he will be unable to attend Oasis’s concerts in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney. He is expected to rejoin the band as they travel to South America.

In his statement, the guitarist said: ‘Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I’m happy to share that I’m making a great recovery thanks to the treatment I’m receiving, and that’s why I was able to join this amazing tour.

I need to take a scheduled break to focus on the next step in my health journey, which means I won’t be able to make it to the shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.

It makes me really sad that I have to miss these performances, but I’m feeling well and expect to be back and ready to perform just in time for the shows in South America.

If you’re attending this month, I hope you have a fantastic time! I’m looking forward to seeing you back on stage with the band in November.

Bonehead, who received a tonsil cancer diagnosis in April 2022, is recognized for playing a role in bringing brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher back together.

When their highly successful tour began, the band members publicly commended him, stating he was a key factor in their reunion.

Bonehead was one of the founding members of the Britpop band and has continued to be friends with both Noel and Liam throughout the years.

A source previously told the Mirror that Bonehead is a rare friend to both of them, and his recent efforts have finally succeeded.

He departed from Oasis in 1999 while the band was working on their fourth album, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, and explained in a statement that his reason for leaving was to have more time with his family.

He has performed with Liam in recent years.
