Oasis fans left fuming over “worst announcement”

Ah, dear Oasis fans, I feel your pain and frustration! As someone who’s been through my fair share of album releases and concert tickets being snatched up in seconds flat, I know the feeling of anticipation followed by crushing disappointment all too well.

Fans of Oasis were deeply dismayed when the much-anticipated “grand” revelation failed to live up to its billing.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement! Earlier this year, the legendary Britpop band announced their reunion for a string of concerts next year. Needless to say, tickets are flying off the shelves at an astonishing pace.

In the midst of anticipation and rumors about an upcoming album, Radio X hinted at the past week that there might be a significant announcement for Oasis enthusiasts on Monday (November 25).

To my dismay, I found myself seething when what was initially presented as an exciting opportunity turned out to simply be a raffle for two concert tickets to one of the band’s performances at Wembley Stadium next summer.

One fan on X commented, “At 6:30 this morning, Chris Moyles announced a big oasis giveaway of two tickets. It’s been that long since I felt this let down, ever since I got an Alan Shearer figurine in my Sugar Puffs and found out its legs weren’t even attached.

“This might be one of the biggest let downs ever,” another added, while a third wrote: “The worst announcement. Such an absolute waste of it!!!!” “Wow, talk about the most underwhelming announcement you could possibly make,” a fourth said.

Since Oasis announced their reunion, this isn’t the only complaint people have voiced about it. Many are criticizing Ticketmaster’s “demand-based pricing” system, which they say led to a rise in the cost of Oasis tickets.

Later, the band issued a statement following ticket sales, stating they found out about Ticketmaster’s flexible pricing policy only afterwards.

They stated that it’s important to understand that the decisions regarding ticketing and pricing for Oasis events are solely handled by the promoters and management, with no prior knowledge that dynamic pricing would be employed in these instances.

Previous discussions among promoters, Ticketmaster, and the band’s representatives led to an agreed-upon ticket sales approach that seemed promising, ensuring a fair experience for fans while also employing dynamic ticketing to maintain affordable prices and minimize scalping. Regrettably, the implementation of this plan did not live up to our hopes.

Despite everyone’s best efforts to provide an outstanding fan experience, it was unfortunately beyond reach given the extraordinary level of demand.

In addition to performances in the UK and Ireland, Oasis is scheduled for tours in North America, South America, Japan, South Korea, and Australia next year.
