Oasis beaten by another British band to be crowned ‘biggest entertainers on the planet’

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but notice that they’ve been the talk of the town lately, with their much-anticipated reunion tour set to kick off in mere two weeks’ time.

In terms of global entertainment, it seems that even in Britain, Oasis isn’t the undisputed number one act, as suggested by recent data gathered by Pollstar. However, they remain a significant player in the music scene.

Music analysts collected data about concert earnings between November 14, 2024, and May 2025, aiming to determine which artist or musical act is currently the most sought-after worldwide.

In this specific case, one group significantly outpaced its competitors, securing first place even against renowned artists like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Shakira.

This year’s stadium tour brought in an astonishing £100.9 million for the unnamed band – can you figure out who they are?

Coldplay, led by Chris Martin (aged 48), are currently the world’s leading performers, having traveled around the globe for the past three years as part of their Music of the Spheres Tour.

They have a significant lead at the top, as Shakira trails by 15%, earning approximately £85 million, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA are in third place, with earnings of around £73.9 million, but they’re 30% behind.

Additionally, The Eagles, Tyler, The Creator, and Korean artist j-hope are also included in the top 10 earners, with The Eagles earning approximately £68.82 million, Tyler, The Creator making £49.5 million, and j-hope bringing in £44.04 million.

Before their tour begins, it is anticipated that Liam and Noel Gallagher will likely come in second place, behind Coldplay in the rankings.

It’s expected that, upon completion of their 41-date world tour for Oasis Live ’25, the two brothers from Manchester will each pocket around £50 million in earnings.

Following several months of excitement, the Gallaghers commenced joint rehearsals a few weeks back, gearing up for their formal reunion scheduled at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4th.

Over a decade and a half has passed since our tumultuous fallout prior to a performance in Paris, yet here we were, two brothers, spotted en route to a studio in West London just a few short weeks back.

Characteristically unconventional, the performer arrived at practice in disarray, stepping out of a van filled with Locket trinkets and cough medicine, hinting at a potential need for tender care for his vocal chords.

Earlier today, Noel Gallagher, known for singing “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” was spotted patiently waiting for the District Line tube at Paddington station. Although this event may have been exciting for fans, the 58-year-old seemed hard-pressed to show a smile.

After the practices, Liam referred to X as a place where he considered the Oasis sessions to be ‘spiritually significant’. Simultaneously, he acknowledged that the band sometimes squandered valuable time when they weren’t together.

On X, a user posed this question to the singer: “What’s it like performing songs with your brother once more? Does it bring back memories of the past?

In response, Liam said, “Indeed, I can’t shake off the thought that those were precious years lost.

Reading a fresh book titled “Live Forever” penned by John Robb offered dedicated Oasis fans a glimpse behind the scenes, revealing the specific reasons that led to their breakup.

One witness said: ‘Liam was goading Noel constantly and then the two snapped.’

Reflecting on that event, I recall an instance where Liam appeared to be in an intense state. I seem to remember him delivering well-aimed blows, and unfortunately, one of Noel’s cherished guitars bore the brunt of his frustration. It was as if Liam had been seized by some powerful force.

They added: ‘He kept cursing profusely, clearly enraged. The need for medical personnel and security became immediate. Noel hurriedly left the scene. This brawl was incredibly violent and utterly distressing.’

In his statement, Noel expressed that the verbally and physically threatening behavior directed at him, his loved ones, associates, and bandmates had become unbearable.

Fortunately, the pair have reconciled, and it’s speculated that Liam was the one who initiated the process of mending their relationship with his brother.

Last year on the platform previously known as Twitter, Liam responded to a fan with this message: “I gave him a call, but please keep it secret. I don’t want people thinking I’m too sentimental, so let’s just keep this our little secret. Thanks x.

Friend of Noel, book author John, is said to have penned down the tour’s accompanying program notes.

In his latest book, Live Forever, John mentioned that the whispers about a possible reunion persisted.

Occasionally, there would be stirrings… Every year, the anticipation would build from a soft murmur to an intense roar. Then, it would fall silent again. Event venues would be confirmed and cancelled. Fans’ expectations and fears would rise and fall accordingly.

On August 27, it was declared that the band had reunited, causing quite a stir. Subsequently, they announced a tour featuring performances at larger stadiums than they had ever graced before, sparking much excitement among fans.

Through a process that included disbanding and reuniting after fifteen years, they managed to regain their position as the world’s leading musical group.
