Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey ‘banned from house by Airbnb after planning rockstar filled party’

As a die-hard fan of rock ‘n’ roll legends, I can’t help but feel a tinge of sympathy for Zak Starkey, the drumming dynamo who’s been in the limelight since his Beatles lineage was etched. The man, with a life experience that reads like a golden ticket to Rock and Roll Heaven, has been denied the tranquil haven of an Airbnb in Buckinghamshire due to his star-studded guest list and rockstar reputation!

It appears that Zak Starkey, the drummer for both Oasis and The Who, was barred from an Airbnb in Buckinghamshire following his unintentional revelation that he intended to host a gathering there.

Instead of renting a six-bedroom house in the Chilterns for the celebration of his wife Sharna Liguz’s 40th birthday, Ringo Starr’s son was looking forward to securing such a property.

In my experience as a lifestyle guide, it appears that Zak’s renowned rockstar status worked against him this time. You see, when the cleaning staff discovered his intention to host a party, the Airbnb decided to cancel his reservation.

As Zak, who is 58 years old, prepared for his upcoming visit, he took a tour of the luxurious house to familiarize himself with the space. Before doing so, he informed the cleaners about his intentions for hosting a party there. The guest list for this event was quite impressive, featuring celebrities such as Liam Gallagher and Johnny Marr, who is well-known from The Smiths.

Zak shared with The Mirror, “Airbnb hosts decided not to host me upon discovering I’m from Oasis and The Who, known as the most rowdy rock ‘n’ roll bands ever. That phrase could make for an eye-catching t-shirt design.”

Instead, it seems that Airbnb hosts claimed the cancellation of his booking was not as dramatic as one might think.

They shared with the publication that Zak had reserved their property via Airbnb a week ago, stating it was intended as a three-day escape from the children to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday.

He emphasized that viewing the property priorly was crucial, thus he visited when the property was being tidied up instead.

From his discussion with the cleaning staff, it became evident that he intended to organize a gathering – something forbidden by Airbnb regulations. Consequently, Airbnb terminated his reservation.

Zak and his wife are disappointed they can’t stay in the house, but fortunately, they managed to secure another location for the party at the very last moment.

Zak mentioned that Sharna was truly disappointed she wouldn’t stay at the Airbnb in Cadmore End, Buckinghamshire, but luckily, they found another place to stay at the eleventh hour instead.

TopMob have contacted Zak’s representatives for comment.

Zak Starkey, born as the eldest child, is the offspring of Ringo Starr (Ringo’s real name), one of the Beatles’ drummers, and his initial spouse, Maureen Cox.

Since the Quadrophenia Tour of 1996, he has served as The Who’s regular drummer. In 2004, following Alan White’s departure, he also became a member of Oasis.

In the year 2022, Zak and Sharna (or Sshh), got married surrounded by rock legends at the iconic Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood.

The lovebirds – who chose their 12-month-old daughter Luna Lee Lightnin’s birth date to get hitched – were given away by Ringo, 84, and Sharna’s father Andrzej Ligu.

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Johnny Marr were Zak’s best men, though the former Smiths rocker couldn’t be there in person and was seen appearing via video call on a tablet.

Reggae artist Pato Banton presided over the initial ceremony; afterward, the couple continued their celebration in both Jamaica and the United Kingdom (UK).
