O.J. Simpson’s Lawyer Predicts Diddy’s Sentencing Fate: Shocking Insights Revealed!
For approximately two weeks now, a verdict has been handed down in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial. At 55 years old, this renowned rapper received a split decision, being found guilty on charges of transporting someone for prostitution but not guilty on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking each. After the mixed verdict was announced, bail was denied to Combs, who is now waiting for his sentence. Various legal experts are still discussing this case, with O.J. Simpson’s former attorney being among the most recent to share their thoughts on it.
In Diddy’s case, the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) charge was considered the most serious allegation by prosecutors. As a result, some legal analysts believe that since he was convicted on this charge, the embattled music and fashion entrepreneur experienced a substantial victory. However, Robert Shapiro maintains his viewpoint that the rapper might be sentenced to 2.5 to 3.5 years. Furthermore, Shapiro expressed these thoughts during an interview with Fox News.
It is unclear if he has a criminal background, but his case might suggest otherwise. Nevertheless, considering the judge denied him bail, it seems like there could be a strong indication that he will spend significant time in detention. Therefore, there’s little point in granting him release to return again.

Robert Shapiro is well-versed in high-profile court cases, having played a crucial role in O.J. Simpson’s defense team during his murder trial involving Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. In the end, Shapiro and his team managed to secure an acquittal for Brown. However, it’s important to note that there are distinct factors at play when comparing Simpson’s case with that of Sean Combs. Notably, Combs has been found guilty and is currently facing jail time. If convicted according to the charges, he could serve up to 20 years in prison; however, prosecutors suggested a sentence between four and five years.
In late 2024, Diddy was admitted to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center following his arrest. Prior to his incarceration, the popular artist known for “Let’s Get It” was embroiled in various lawsuits, accusing him of violence, sexual assault, and sex-trafficking. The initial lawsuit originated from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who also provided testimony during his trial. A significant aspect of the case revolves around a hotel footage from 2016 that depicts Diddy physically assaulting Ventura. Robert Shapiro suggests that this evidence might influence the sentencing as well.
If the judge reviews that video in his memory, it may trigger a renewed awareness of the incident. In this case, I believe there’s a strong possibility that a significant punishment will be handed down.
Currently, Sean Combs and those close to him are facing a great deal of uncertainty. His bodyguard, Big Homie, is planning to depart the U.S., concerned about potential reprisals from certain groups. Even Sean Combs’ personal chef is anxious about what lies ahead. However, despite the many uncertainties, Sean Combs’ legal team appears optimistic following the verdict. After the decision was upheld, his lawyers declared they were “far from finished” and were merely “getting started.
On October 3, Diddy’s trial will occur, and he’ll be incarcerated until then. Just like everyone else, Robert Shapiro must simply be patient and observe the decision that Judge Arun Subramanian makes in due time.
