NRL star Cooper Cronk’s glamorous wife Tara Rushton scores surprise new gig as she takes on major role at Channel Ten
As an ardent fan of sports and television presenters, I couldn’t be more ecstatic about Tara Rushton’s upcoming prime-time role at Channel Ten! With her extensive experience hosting sporting events across the globe and her charismatic presence, she is undoubtedly a fantastic addition to 10 News First Sydney.
Tara Rushton is heading for a prime time role.
The stylish television host, who is married to NRL star Cooper Cronk, has secured a new job opportunity at Channel Ten.
The 40-year-old will join 10 News First Sydney as Sports Presenter from 2025.
Rushton has spent more than a decade hosting sporting events, including the Formula One Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup Carnival, and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
She also held presenting roles on Fox Sports Australia and Fox Sports News.
On weekdays, Rushton takes over as the sports news presenter, while Scott Mackinnon extends his duties from Friday to Sunday, delivering the latest sports updates during the weekend.
A mom of two has a successful career as both a presenter and journalist; she used to anchor sports shows in Singapore and the United Kingdom.
In 2013, following her four-year stay overseas, she returned to Australia and took up the position of presenter at Fox Sports.
In June 2021, she publicly stated her exit from Fox Sports, followed by joining 10 Sports to spearhead their Australian soccer broadcasts.
Rushton has also put in some time on Channel Ten’s current affairs series, The Project.
In 2021, she was a breath of fresh air when she appeared as a guest panelist.
She starred alongside series regulars Rachel Corbett, Tommy Little and Hamish Macdonald.
She had joined Channel 10 earlier that year to lead the coverage of Australian soccer.
Initially, it was thought that her appearance on The Project indicated a possible broadening of her responsibilities within the network.
Supporters were thrilled to witness Tara taking charge, as one posted on Instagram: “Beacon of light. Absolutely adored it.
‘Tara needs to be on The Project every night,’ another added.
Meanwhile, Tara and her husband, who she married in 2017, have lately had some property woes.
The footy power couple were embroiled in a council row with their neighbour over privacy fears sparked by a multimillion-dollar renovation in July.
A well-known sports figure, formerly with Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters, along with his TV host wife from Ten Sports, expressed concerns that an upgraded house adjacent to their own, costing $3.7 million, would allow their neighbor to peer directly into the bedrooms of their children due to its location.
The proposed works included a new swimming pool, outdoor deck and landscaping – but Cronk and Rushton expressed concern it would expose their children to prying eyes.
Additionally, they mentioned that this location would offer their kids an unobstructed perspective of the neighboring residence in fashionable Georges Heights, boasting a stunning panorama of Sydney Harbor.
Privacy should be mutual, and I’m confident that just as we wouldn’t want others peeking into our homes through our children’s rooms, they too would prefer their private spaces respected,” is one possible paraphrase for the given statement.
I was among only a couple who responded to the development application. Primarily, my concern revolved around privacy matters, yet I also raised secondary issues regarding potential power outages during construction.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to point out an intentional architectural design in this home. The doors and windows of the kitchen, dining, and living spaces on the top floor are strategically positioned to offer direct views into our lush property. -Cronk
‘As a result we believe there is a direct privacy issue created between the two properties.
The couple expressed worry that the renovation might interfere with their power supply since they planned to remove a power pole for underground cabling installation.
41-year-old Cronk hung up his boots from the National Rugby League (NRL) in 2019, having played in an unprecedented three straight grand final matches.
Currently, he holds commentator positions at Fox Sports and serves in an advisory capacity for a financial management company.
The pair have two sons, Lennox and Harley, and purchased the architecturally designed home in 2022 for $8.75million.
