As a long-time admirer of Andrew “Joey” Johns, I must say his low-key, intimate Bali wedding to Kate Kendall came as a pleasant surprise. The secret ceremony and the couple’s decision to keep their joyous day private only adds to their charm. It seems that Joey, despite being a legendary NRL star, still values privacy over the limelight.

Legendary NRL player, Andrew ‘Joey’ Johns, has recently married his partner, Kate Kendall, in a clandestine ceremony held in Bali.

50-year-old football icon has remained silent regarding his marriage to the yoga teacher, disclosing merely that it was an intimate event; this tidbit was shared by The Sydney Morning Herald over the weekend.

On their joyous occasion, it’s reported that Andrew and Kate chose to keep the gathering intimate, extending invitations solely to their closest friends and family members.

The couple have not posted anything to their social media pages about the wedding.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Andrew for comment.

Fans of the ex-athlete may find it surprising to learn that he and his fiancée have secretly tied the knot on a luxurious island, as many were uninformed about their engagement.

In August, the couple sparked engagement rumours after Kate was seen sporting a diamond ring.

At Bronte, it was noticed that the sports commentator from Channel Nine and the well-known yoga instructor based in Sydney were having a delightful lunch, which hinted at being a romantic outing.

It was observed that Kate had a diamond ring on her ring finger, leading people to talk about the possibility that the couple secretly became engaged.

In a continuation of their affectionate relationship that began in 2016, the pair seemed more smitten than ever, beaming and conversing during their open-air meal while enjoying the warm rays of sunlight.

Apart from that, Andrew acknowledged his partner for introducing him to yoga. He mentioned that this practice has been instrumental in maintaining his focus and improving his mental well-being.

As someone who used to dismiss yoga as a practice meant only for females, I can honestly say that I regret not dedicating more time to it during my athletic years. This revelation came to light in conversations I had with News Corp earlier this season.

From a physical perspective, it’s beneficial for my healing process given my history of injuries. However, on a mental level, it’s truly superior – it provides an exceptional clarity to my thoughts.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share an insight about my routine: Establishing a morning yoga practice helps me maintain discipline throughout the day. Knowing that I have yoga scheduled for the morning encourages me to make mindful choices the evening prior – within reasonable limits, of course.

In the year 2015, Andrew began a relationship with renowned yoga teacher Kate, and they became parents to their little girl, Alice, in 2018.

Apart from that, he has a 24-year-old son named Andrew with his ex-wife Renae Chapman, and a 14-year-old son Louis from his current union with Catherine Mahoney.

Kate manages the yoga studio called Flow Athletic, which is located in Paddington, and her prominent clients include Roxy Jacenko, Willie Mason, and George Burgess.

Apart from that, she additionally conducts online yoga classes via her Active Yogi platform, and manages a podcast named “The Space Between.

In a peaceful setting removed from the limelight, the contented pair relish living life to its fullest, boasting a captivating panorama of Bronte Beach from their luxurious residence worth approximately 2.8 million dollars, nestled in the eastern part of Sydney.

Andrew represented New South Wales Blues in 23 State of Origin games and held the position of captain for the Newcastle Knights.

Apart from that, he’s proudly donned the Australian jersey twice at the World Cup, earning him a spot among the most outstanding Australian rugby league legends ever.
