The popular magic heist series, Now You See Me, returns after nine years. The latest film is already performing well, opening in theaters this Friday.
I’m really excited to hear that the new Now You See Me movie is off to a good start, even if the reviews haven’t been amazing so far! Director Ruben Fleischer told Entertainment Weekly that they’re already working on Now You See Me 4 and things are looking promising. It’s great to know the franchise is continuing and they’ve got some cool ideas brewing!
Earlier this year, plans changed from a straightforward Now You See Me 3 to a new installment, and a fourth movie has also been announced. Ruben Fleischer was expected to direct again.
The latest installment featured returning stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Morgan Freeman, as well as new cast members Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike. Director Fleischer hinted that the next film will be a very exciting adventure.
I’m so excited to hear they’re still working on the next movie! The director said it’s going to keep the spirit of the previous ones – lots of travel, magic, heists, and amazing performances, and we’ll continue following the stories of those eight incredible magicians. It’s a shame one of the main stars won’t be back, but I’m still really looking forward to it!
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t Had an Unexpected Death
Despite a major cast member leaving the project, the film continued production. The biggest surprise for viewers was the death of Thaddeus, unexpectedly killed by Rosamund Pike’s character, the villain Veronika Vanderberg. It wasn’t a fake-out – his death was permanent. Director Fleischer said it was a difficult decision, but necessary to raise the stakes and create genuine tension.
He also pointed out that Freeman is a popular and well-liked actor, meaning his death in the story would have a significant impact. He assured everyone that the actor fully approved of the storyline.
I was really excited to hear Fleischer mention that Mark Ruffalo might be back for the next film! Apparently, they’re planning a more significant role for him this time around, which is awesome. But it all depends on whether his schedule allows it. He’s a pretty in-demand actor, and with who knows how many more Avengers movies potentially on the way, it’s a bit up in the air if he’ll be available.
The director expressed his wish to include more of Mark Ruffalo’s character, Dylan, in the film. Although Dylan returns in the third movie, Fleischer explained that Ruffalo wasn’t initially able to participate during the main filming. They creatively brought him back using a holographic appearance.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is currently playing in theaters.
