Northern NSW council approves Hollywood superstar Zac Efron’s building plans for fully sustainable ‘hemp house’

The ambition of Zac Efron to construct a completely eco-friendly dream house is moving a step forward.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that my vision for a zero-waste living space, affectionately dubbed ‘Futurecave’, has received approval from the Tweed Shire Council! This eco-friendly haven is nestled in the picturesque town of Tomewin, New South Wales. According to recent reports from The Daily Telegraph, this sustainable home is one step closer to reality!
Back in 2020, I, a die-hard fan, was thrilled to learn that the 36-year-old heartthrob from High School Musical snatched up a secluded bushland retreat nestled near the enchanting Byron Bay for a cool $2 million! This news had me dancing around my room like Troy Bolton himself!
The development application requested to build an off the grid ‘zero waste’ six-bedroom two-storey pad on the 128 hectare spread for $2.685million.
According to a report from August, while Efron’s name was missing from the application documents, he was nevertheless listed as the owner on the property deeds.
The spread is located in rugged bushland near Tomewin, 25kms inland from well-known beach holiday spot Coolangatta and 75kms from Byron Bay.
The plans propose a sprawling home which will include a gym and will have a design known as ‘carbon sequestering’.
This is a process that helps to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
As a diehard admirer, let me tell you about this futuristic abode, masterfully crafted by the genius mind of Frank Burridge from Main Studio architects. Instead of traditional rooms, it boasts interconnected “pods” held together by a sleek, suspended walkway.
Offering approximately 830 square meters of living area, these structures are built using panels crafted from hemp boards.
The building boasts a ‘roof covered with greenery’ that fosters plant growth. Additionally, it serves as an ‘ideal sanctuary’ for butterflies and fireflies.
As stated in the document, Efron’s property is located within a lush rainforest region and features three streams and waterfalls.
The Disaster Artist star bought the land when he was in Australia during the COVID lockdown.
Following Efron’s assertion that he is feeling well and fit, it’s worth noting this statement was made after his hospitalization in August, which occurred when he jumped into a pool during his vacation in Ibiza.
He took ‘a large amount of water into his lungs’ after he made contact with the bottom of the pool.
In the aftermath of the occurrence, the main character exhibited signs of being troubled and briefly disoriented, as reported by sources. At this instance, security personnel swiftly intervened to offer aid.
