North America rejoices as NRG wins Rocket League World Championship 2025

This is a fantastic win for the region, the NRG esports team, and especially for the three players involved. Unlike some other top contenders who struggled, NRG consistently advanced and convincingly defeated Falcons in the final match.

I was really shocked when G2 Strive announced they were leaving Rocket League esports before this season even started! They’d already won the London Major and finished second at Worlds in 2024 – they were a top team. Honestly, my biggest worry was for the players themselves, because that roster was incredible and I hated to see it potentially broken up.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what went on behind the scenes, but it looks like NRG made an amazing move. They picked up the whole team, coach included, and it totally paid off! They just won the Rocket League World Championship 2025 – it’s huge, the biggest title in esports soccer, and I’m so hyped for them!

This championship marks the first major title for players BeastMode, Daniel, and Atomic. It also represents a triumphant return to dominance for their organization in the Rocket League world. This win demonstrates that North American teams can compete with – and defeat – the best teams from Europe and the MENA region.

NRG’s run through the two stages of Rocket League World Championship 2025

NRG won the Rocket League tournament cleanly, without any major controversies or upsets along the way.

  • In the Group Stage, NRG won two matches to advance to the final brackets.

The game against Ninjas in Pyjamas was very tight. They almost managed to win after losing the first game, but NRG pulled through and secured the victory.

The advancement match versus Team Secret was much more confident on the NRG side.

  • In the Playoffs, NRG sent fellow North Americans to the lower brackets, The Ultimates. Then, NRG smashed Geekay Esports in the semi and did not let Team Falcons play their game in the grand final.

Looking back at the tournament, the match against The Ultimates was incredibly challenging. It was the only series that went the full seven games in the Rocket League World Championship 2025 playoffs, and either team could have easily won.

NRG easily defeated Geekay Esports. It’s impressive to see NRG performing so well again, continuing their success from events like the 2025 Rocket League EWC. NRG was simply the better team.

Team Falcons was widely expected to win the tournament after defeating Karmine Corp, but NRG had a different outcome in mind. NRG achieved their goal of becoming World Champions! Despite putting up a strong fight with impressive defense, Falcons only managed to win a single game in the championship match.

Ups and downs of Karmine Corp

I was really rooting for Karmine Corp at the Rocket League World Championship in 2025 – everyone thought they had a serious shot at winning! They had an amazing year leading up to it, including a big win at the Birmingham Major. And they actually did it! They just took home the trophy at the Rocket League Esports World Cup 2025, which is incredible!

As a huge Karmine Corp fan, seeing the RLCS 2025 World Finals in France was incredible! The crowd support for KC was absolutely unreal – they had the entire arena behind them, it was a dream come true!

In reality, the team got a rollercoaster of an event, with high ups and low downs.

  • The Ultimates defeated Karmine Corp in the advancement match of Group A. KC fell to the lower brackets, which meant being on the verge of elimination till the end of the tournament.
  • In the Playoffs, Karmine Corp eliminated The Ultimates with a brilliant 4-0. The fans sure felt over the moon after that.
  • Team Falcons demonstrated miracles of defense in their match versus Karmine Corp. The exceptional shots of dralii, Vatira, and Atow. just did not work. On the other hand, Falcons delivered crucial goals to win — 1-0s in two final games to seal the deal.

The downfall of Vitality

The story of Vitality’s Rocket League team mirrors that of NRG. After Team BDS won the 2024 World Championship and then left the scene, Vitality signed M0nkey M00n, ExoTiiK, and their coach, Kassio, for the 2025 RLCS season. However, the team hasn’t yet achieved major success.

  • Team Vitality got eliminated from the Group Stage, which feels like a disaster for players of this level. They lost to Falcons and NiP.

Vitality had some amazing games, but they often ended in disappointment for their fans. They fell behind 2-0 in one series, even losing a match 0-8 against Spacestation. Their comeback win felt incredible. However, Falcons then defeated Vitality with a score of 2-6.

Everyone is a fan of Wildcard now

We all enjoy stories about successful people who come from unexpected places, and once again, an Australian player is giving us one.

PWR turned heads with strong performances at the 2024 RLCS World Championship, and in 2025, Wildcard’s Australian team repeated the surprise with their own impressive matches.

  • Wildcard defeated FURIA and Dignitas with 3-0! These are not your simplest opponents at all.

While Wildcard’s playoff run ending isn’t a huge setback, making it into the top six as a team from Oceania is a fantastic accomplishment. It shows a lot of potential for more exciting performances from Oceania teams in future Rocket League events.

After a pause, including the next player trading period, the 2026 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) season will begin. In the meantime, players are enjoying Rocket League Season 20, which the developers have made particularly strong.
