Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife Sara MacDonald’s £44k engagement ring heads to auction for a second time – two years after couple divorced

It’s quite a piece, and even more fascinating considering it’s only two years after their very public and substantial £20 million divorce. It really highlights how life moves on, doesn’t it?

Noel Gallagher, the 58-year-old singer from Oasis, proposed with a £44,000 engagement ring in 2010. He’d bought the ring from a shop on Bond Street.

This unique ring, created by British designer Solange Azagury-Partridge, is crafted from 18-karat yellow gold and showcases two rose-cut diamonds – a larger one weighing 2.53 carats and a smaller one at 0.51 carats.

The item is currently being auctioned by Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers in Belfast, with bidding starting at £18,000.

According to The Sun, items connected to Noel Gallagher are particularly valuable because he was the main songwriter and creative leader of Oasis, giving those objects a compelling story.

The couple first met in 2000 at a club called Space in Ibiza, and later married in a beautiful ceremony in the New Forest in 2011. The wedding cost around £60,000.

They share Donovan, who was born in 2007 and Sonny, born in 2010.

Noel also has a daughter Anais, born in 2000, who he shares with his first ex-wife Meg Matthews.

Noel and Sara announced they were set to divorce in 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage. 

Over the years, music publicist Sara became closely involved in the ongoing, bitter conflict between the Oasis brothers. Liam Gallagher had previously accused her of being a key obstacle to the band getting back together.

Noel and Sara tied the knot at the Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest, and Russell Brand was among the attendees. However, according to Noel’s brother Liam, Brand wasn’t officially invited to the wedding.

Liam Gallagher believes his brother Noel’s wife, Sara, caused a rift between them, ultimately leading to the band’s breakup.

Liam and Sara have frequently argued publicly, with Liam at times making harsh personal attacks. He once described Sara as a ‘dark’ person and, during heated late-night phone calls, used abusive language towards her.

However, Sara frequently responded with harsh words – accounts suggest she once called him a deeply unpleasant name and expressed a wish for his death by a specific date.

After Noel and Sara Gallagher announced their separation, rumors began circulating that a reunion of the band Oasis might finally happen, something fans have hoped for for years.

Liam and Sara have a history of conflict, and they’ve had many public disagreements online.

He suggested that a reunion of the band Oasis was unlikely, because Noel was very angry about Liam’s harsh words regarding Sara.

Sara mentioned in a 2020 interview that she initially had a good impression of her brother-in-law. However, their relationship became strained after she and Noel briefly separated in 2002.
