Noel Edmonds opens up about Clarkson’s Farm comparisons ahead of his £1million return to TV with show documenting move to New Zealand

The television personality, Noel Edmonds, has spoken out regarding the similarities drawn between Clarkson’s Farm and his upcoming TV series, which follows his family’s relocation to New Zealand.

Legendary broadcaster, now aged 76, is set to earn an estimated £1 million upon his return to television screens this month, following his move to New Zealand with his wife Liz in 2018.

The new show, titled “Noel Edmond’s Kiwi Adventure,” chronicles the journey of a couple who purchased land near Ngatimoti and established a community-centric hospitality business after building it up.

As a devoted fan, I’ve often found myself reminiscing about the vibe of Jeremy Clarkson’s farm show. In a recent chat, Noel shared his thoughts on the resemblances and distinct characteristics he noticed.

During the making of our series, some folks who were aware of Clarkson’s Farm asked me, “Is this similar to Clarkson’s Farm?” according to Noel.

To clarify, I am quite distinct from Jeremy in various aspects; however, I secretly admire some qualities he possesses.

He’s exceptionally talented. His ability to express ideas eloquently and inject humor into his arguments is unmatched by others.

Our Kiwi Adventure differs from Clarkson’s Farm in that it focuses more on telling a story about a way of life.

For its second complete year in operation, the New Zealand business, featuring a winery, coffee stand, convenience store, and combined eatery and pub, welcomes back the public, under constant surveillance by cameras.

As a passionate advocate for sustainability, I too am embarking on the ambitious endeavor of establishing New Zealand’s first Energy Garden. However, I ponder about how my pioneering project and fledgling business will navigate through the challenges posed by unpredictable weather conditions, negative publicity, and feelings of being an outsider in this new environment.

In the thrill of my fervor as a dedicated fan, I ponder: Will Noel’s thirst for adventure and abundance of innovative ideas weather the storms and challenges that New Zealand presents to him?

Last year TopMob revealed that Noel could be set to rival Clarkson’s Farm with £1million ITV deal’

It appears that Jeremy Clarkson’s Amazon Prime series continues to be incredibly popular, as the recent statistics show it outperformed all other programs during the entire previous week within a mere 48-hour span.

Last year, a source close to the TV industry shared with The Sun that Noel would be coming back to television: “Noel’s extraordinary and unconventional lifestyle promises to bring pure gold to our screens.

In simpler terms, New Zealand is continuing to grapple with the repercussions of stringent lockdown measures, and there’s a hope that Noel, much like Jeremy did for British agriculture, can revitalize their tourism industry.

A flurry of interest emerged among production companies as they vied to acquire the rights, and it’s widely recognized that this could mark a significant resurgence for Noel.

In the year 2019, I, alongside my former colleague Liz Davies, embarked on a new journey by relocating to New Zealand. After settling in, we established a network of radio stations around Auckland. Three years later, we found ourselves moving from there to Ngatimoti.

Apart from the vineyard, this television personality also owns a store, eatery, tavern, and café on an £15m property. In 2023, he stirred up a heated dispute with locals who claimed he was encroaching upon their picturesque village, labeling it as ‘colonization’.

The Deal Or No Deal star has also added winemaking to his repertoire at River Haven.

In the Ngatimoti region, Noel made his home and purchased a total of twelve properties valued around £15 million, spread across approximately 270 hectares of land.

The town has a reputation within New Zealand for hosting an annual event, usually occurring in October, that attracts thousands of attendees.

2023 marked a year where I found myself at the heart of an intense dispute with locals, who perceived my actions as encroaching upon their picturesque hamlet, alleging it to be an act of appropriation or ‘village colonization’.

One said: ‘I feel like he’s a coloniser. He’s come in like he’s the lord of the manor.’

The celebrity, known for his TV appearances, hasn’t made things any clearer by being pictured on the property with a mug displaying the phrase “His Lordship.

The resident remarked, ‘He has such an air of pride regarding his contributions to enhancing this place. It was already wonderful before, but now it’s simply stunning.’

Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure airs on ITV Friday June 20
