The new movie based on the video game, from Paramount Pictures and Legendary, is starting to come together. Noah Centineo will star in the reboot.

A movie based on the popular video game Street Fighter has been in development for a while. Directed by Kitao Sakurai and featuring a well-known cast, a recent trailer suggests a thrilling and fresh take on the classic story.

Though it’s only 45 seconds long, the new teaser is packed with action, promising a fun and exciting adaptation. The stars – Centino, Momoa, Orville Peck, David Dastmalchian, and Liang – unveiled the teaser at the Game Awards, where they also presented the award for Best Ongoing Game to No Man’s Sky.

The new Street Fighter movie takes place in 1993 and centers on Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), two former friends and fighters. They’re pulled back into the world of combat when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) asks them to compete in the World Warrior Tournament—a fierce competition filled with intense battles. However, the tournament is more than it seems, hiding a dangerous plot that forces Ryu and Ken to confront each other and their troubled histories. Failure to uncover the truth could have devastating consequences.

The movie will feature iconic moves like Hadoukens and roundhouse kicks, along with all the beloved characters fans expect.

The new Street Fighter movie marks the start of a long-term, global franchise plan. Capcom is working with the producers to create an adaptation that will both capture the energy of the original 90s arcade game and appeal to modern audiences.

Alongside Centineo, the movie Street Fighter stars Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Joe Anoa’i (known as Roman Reigns) as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric Andre as Don Sauvage, and Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim. Jason Momoa also makes an appearance as Blanka.

The trailer was well-received by fans, particularly those who have followed the series for a long time. Many viewers on YouTube praised its visual style, with one popular comment saying the person who gave it a “Scott Pilgrim” vibe deserves recognition. Others highlighted the nostalgic feeling created by the destroyed car and described the trailer as a great blend of fun and action.

Noah Centineo Has Many Exciting Upcoming Roles

Beyond playing Ken Masters in the new Street Fighter movie, the actor is set to star in a Rambo prequel. Sylvester Stallone isn’t participating in the project, but he shared his thoughts on the idea, saying people initially thought he was crazy. He explained that AI technology is now advanced enough to recreate a young Rambo – around 18 years old in Saigon – using his likeness, making the prequel a feasible concept.
