No, there's no new episode of Agatha All Along tonight (But there should be)

As a dedicated gamer and Marvel fan who’s been following the MCU since its inception, I can confidently say that Agatha All Along has been one of the most captivating experiences I’ve had within this expansive universe. The twists, turns, and cliffhangers have kept me on the edge of my seat every week, leaving me eager for more.

From its debut on September 18, Agatha All Along has kept up the pace without skipping a single beat. Each episode has skillfully carried forward the energy from the previous one, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the next installment. In fact, each episode concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger that keeps us discussing it for days until the next episode airs. The ninth episode was no exception to this pattern. The episode ended on one of the show’s most daring and surprising cliffhangers. While I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, I can see why some might find it less like a traditional finale.

Indeed, Agatha All Along concluded a week ago on Oct. 30 during a two-episode finale event. Consequently, there won’t be any fresh episodes airing tonight, Nov. 6. If you find this news surprising, we understand your feelings as the last episode of the season didn’t seem like a traditional finale, since it raised more questions than it answered during its run.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Agatha All Along episode 9!

In the final episode, it’s revealed that Agatha had, in fact, perished in the previous one and a significant part of the finale is dedicated to unraveling the deception surrounding the Witches’ Path. It’s exposed that Agatha has been deceiving witches for centuries about the existence of the Witches’ Path, using it as a ruse to seize their powers. She would use the legend of the Witches’ Path to attract witches to her.

The magical path we traversed throughout the season, known as the Witches’ Road, was actually crafted by Billy – a fact that becomes clear when the spirit of Agatha visits him. Upon this revelation, Billy returns to Westview and conducts a ritual to seal the door to the Road he had opened previously. Drawing upon the song’s suggestion of ‘spirit as a guide,’ Agatha proposes helping Billy locate his brother Tommy.

As epic as the ending was, it left fans wondering what was next for Agatha and Billy – and for Jen as well, who managed to escape the Witches’ Road with her powers restored – as it felt more like a season finale than a series finale. And considering the show was billed as a limited series, this left fans feeling anxious about how their story might continue which is understandable. After all, how do you tease a journey such as that and end the show on that note without any hints of where that journey will go next?

Is Agatha All Along season 2 happening? (It’s looking like it!)

It appears that the storyline for Agatha and Billy may continue beyond their current adventure, as Disney has indicated plans for another season of “WandaVision” by submitting “Agatha All Along” as a comedy rather than a limited series in award categories this season.

The fact that Marvel opted not to present “Agatha All Along” as a limited series indicates they might be preparing for another season. Variety even mentioned that Marvel and Disney would have had to demonstrate plans for another season to the TV Academy, in order to submit a show as a comedy. In other words, a series can only compete in the comedy category if there’s a plan for more seasons. Since “Agatha All Along” is set to vie for a comedy award, this implies that Marvel is planning another season.

This would honestly make so much sense given the way season 1 ended.

It’s more logical for their journey, which begins as Season 1 concludes with Agatha and Billy setting off to find Tommy, to take place within a second season of the show instead of another Marvel production. This approach would enable Marvel to develop upon the groundwork established in the first season, deepening the relationship between Billy and Agatha.

Finding Tommy may not be a smooth journey, as we’ve barely scratched the surface of Billy’s talents. It would be thrilling to delve deeper into both characters in future seasons, with many unanswered questions about Agatha’s new spirit status, such as how she managed to retrieve her locket, and the unfolding mysteries surrounding other significant characters in the show.

A new installment of “Agatha All Along” might offer us a chance to delve deeper into Death’s character and reintroduce Jen, possibly for a brief stint to assist Billy on his path – even if it’s only for an episode or two. Moreover, this second season could set the stage for Billy and Tommy eventually meeting up with their MCU parents within the MCU, potentially in the Vision series or in the much-discussed Scarlet Witch film.

Regardless of what lies ahead, it’s evident that Marvel could be preparing a new season of “Agatha All Along” and we can hardly contain our enthusiasm at the prospect of its comeback!
