No LoL Worlds 2025 without T1 as they secure their spot after defeating DK

It’s hard to imagine the 2025 League of Legends World Championship without T1, and they ensured they wouldn’t miss out, easily defeating DK to qualify.

The final qualifying spot for the League of Legends World Championship 2025 comes down to a match between Dplus KIA and T1 Esports. Dplus KIA has qualified for every Worlds tournament so far, but they’re facing T1, the incredibly popular esports organization with a massive and dedicated fanbase. In the end, T1 succeeded in securing their place at Worlds 2025.

T1 vs DK at the LCK Summer 2025

Match 1

DK won the first game convincingly, while T1 struggled to compete. DK’s Aiming played exceptionally well on Corki, even in a difficult lane, and ShowMaker dominated with Cassiopeia, a currently powerful mid-lane champion. The game finished in 30 minutes, boosting DK’s confidence, though they later lost their way in the following matches.

Match 2

T1 played exceptionally well in this match, taking complete control when they needed to. Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong proved his skill with a fantastic Sivir performance, and Aiming was equally impressive, both carrying the team. Despite a strong performance from DK’s top laner, they couldn’t overcome T1, especially with Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, one of the LCK’s best junglers, delivering a historic pentakill on Jarvan IV. This brought the series score to 1-1.

Match 3

The third game was a decisive win for T1. Faker played Orianna with confidence, while his opponent on Viktor seemed unsure. T1’s jungler, Oner, and top laner, Doran, quickly took control of the game, winning their lanes even though DK’s team initially looked like they had an advantage in terms of team composition.

Match 4

Everyone was surprised by DK’s unusual picks – Rammus as support and Morgana in the mid lane. They hoped these choices would help them turn the game around, but T1 wasn’t fazed. T1 was playing incredibly well, especially with Oner constantly and aggressively pushing his advantage. DK’s risky strategy didn’t work, and T1 easily won the game, solidifying their qualification for the LoL Worlds 2025 tournament.

T1 at the LoL Worlds 2025

Hanwha Life, KT Rolster, and Gen.G had previously qualified for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship. This match determined the final LCK team to join them, and T1 won. This means Faker will be competing in his tenth World Championship, solidifying his status as a legendary player. Unfortunately, this year’s tournament will be the first without the team DK.
