Nintendo Fukuoka announced: “I am so happy that the Nintendo store has finally opened in my hometown.”

Nintendo Fukuoka will open its doors later this year.

It’s been revealed that Nintendo is planning to launch a fresh outlet in Japan this year, which will be known as the Nintendo Fukuoka Store.

Nintendo Fukuoka to open in 2025

By the end of 2025, Nintendo Fukuoka is set to open its doors, marking the first retail expansion for the company beyond Japan’s main island, Honshu. This new store will be the fourth Nintendo outlet within Japan itself.

According to a post on social media by Nintendo, most people responded favorably to the announced news. In Japanese, many expressed enthusiasm, discussed their long-awaiting anticipation, and shared their eagerness to visit Nintendo’s Fukuoka branch. One user, for instance, additionally commended its location inside the AMU Plaza Hakata City shopping mall.

More Nintendo store locations

Simultaneously, there were users expressing a desire for an authentic Nintendo store in the metropolis of Nagoya, a city that ranks fourth in Japan behind Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka.

It remains uncertain if there will be a Nintendo store in Nagoya in the future. Besides the Nintendo stores in Fukuoka, Japan also hosts outlets in Osaka, Tokyo, and Kyoto.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited that Nintendo just opened its second U.S. store right here in San Francisco’s Union Square! The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by our very own Mayor Daniel Lurie on May 15. Notably, there’s another store location in the States called Nintendo New York.
