Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Marks a Return to the Series’ 8-Bit Side-Scroller Roots in 2025
As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound has sent waves of nostalgia and anticipation coursing through me. Growing up in the 8-bit era, I remember the thrill of playing the original Ninja Gaiden games, their challenging gameplay etched into my gaming DNA.
Koei Tecmo and publisher Dotemu have unveiled “Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound,” a new installment in the series that harks back to its classic 8-bit side-scrolling gameplay, developed by The Game Kitchen – the creative minds behind the popular “Blasphemous” games.
The announcement proclaims a remarkable blend of past and present, promising a captivating and exhilarating tale. The narrative kicks off as Ryu Hayabusa embarks on a trip to America to fulfill his father’s legacy. However, while he is gone, an unexpected event occurs – the boundary between our world and the demon realm collapses, releasing a horrifying force onto the Hayabusa Village. In Ryu’s absence, the village now faces a peril unprecedented in its history.
As the young ninja Kenji Mozu of Hayabusa Village, you’ll need to confront this latest danger and protect your village. The game appears to be quite challenging, so brace yourself for a tough battle ahead. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is set to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in the summer of 2025.
