Nineties pop star has barely aged as she performs in Glasgow… 30 years after finding fame with her iconic number one hit
As a devoted fan of Whigfield, I can’t help but be in awe of this remarkable woman and her timeless beauty. Thirty years have passed since she first graced us with her iconic number one single “Saturday Night,” yet she looks as youthful and vibrant as ever.
A well-known pop star from the 90s, whose hit single reached the top spot three decades ago, appears almost unchanged in her appearance.
Sannie Charlotte Carlson, a well-known Danish singer at the age of 54, gained significant popularity in the UK after the success of her song “Saturday Night,” which reached the top spot on the UK charts when it was released in 1994.
She achieved her greatest triumph in Britain, leaving an indelible mark with its own popular dance move, regularly featured at primary school events and family gatherings nationwide.
When Whigfield was only 25 years old, her hit song took the charts by storm. Now, thirty years later and in her fifties, she still retains a remarkably youthful appearance.
On Saturday, the singer shared numerous Instagram photos of herself singing at the Pride celebrations in Glasgow and Newcastle.
I could hardly contain my excitement as I prepared for this special event. My heart raced with anticipation, and I wanted to make sure every detail of my outfit reflected my vibrant personality. So, I let my long locks cascade down in radiant shades of bubblegum pink, extended with eye-catching hair extensions. To top it off, I donned a brilliant pink blouse that matched the exuberance in my eyes, and swirled around in a rainbow skirt that danced with each twirl I made. Each element was a testament to my unabashed love for all things colorful and whimsical.
The singing sensation completed her flamboyant look with some thigh-high pink boots.
In a different photo from one of her Pride shows, she appeared stunning in a bedazzled jumpsuit and fishnet hose.
She also shared a picture where she was excitedly posing backstage with drag queen Miss Rory.
The singer playfully commented in her post: “I’m so grateful for this amazing #Saturday! Yesterday was absolutely fantastic at Glasgow’s Pride, Barrowland Ballroom, and Newcastle Pride.”

In 2019, the singer opened up on Lorraine about how living healthily has kept her looking young.
She shared: “The key is to mix things up from how you used to live in the 90s. Now I go to bed each night at ten, eat healthily, and work out daily. I’ve left my mischievous past behind.”
In an interview outside of the limelight, Whigfield shared that she resides on the outskirts of Milan, immersed in the beautiful Italian countryside.
In the past, I used to be incredibly busy. I would even have three songs vying for attention at once. It was a chaotic experience. Nowadays, I take the time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
The singer confessed that she has distanced herself from mainstream music in the past few years, choosing instead to explore the lively international nightclub scene deeply.
For the last three years, she has been engaged in creating house music. She has also been crafting compositions for other DJs.
Previously, Whigfield expressed her gratitude for the immense popularity of Saturday Night, but admitted she would have benefited from better preparation had she known her ascent to fame would be so swift.
She expressed to 9Honey, “It would have been helpful if someone had prepped me beforehand. I feel like I was suddenly thrown into this situation.”
