Nikki Glaser’s controversial jokes cut from Golden Globes included jibes about Luigi Mangione and ‘baby Hitler’

Nikki Glaser's controversial jokes cut from Golden Globes included jibes about Luigi Mangione and 'baby Hitler'

On the evening of Sunday, Nikki Glaser shared some of the boldest and contentious jokes she decided to omit from her opening act during the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.

As I mulled over balancing humor and jabs at Tinseltown’s heavyweights, the hilarious comedian (aged 40) revealed a series of biting one-liners she couldn’t use during her chat with Howard Stern – lines that would have left us in stitches if they had made it to air.

The jokes she decided not to tell during her performance at the Beverly Hilton targeted various A-list celebrities, including Ben Affleck and Alec Baldwin.

Moreover, she chose to abstain from telling a Diddy joke, as she anticipated it might elicit unfavorable reactions from the crowd. Similarly, she avoided making a Hitler reference, as it didn’t resonate well with her young Generation Z coworker.

During her appearance on The Howard Stern Show on January 6th, Glaser chose not to share certain jokes during the main broadcast and instead read them out separately.

The Golden Globes is unique because it gathers the biggest film, television, and movie stars under one roof, all sharing a common aim – leaving tonight before Dax Shepard invites them for his podcast. This will be the last time you’ll all be in the same place until after Diddy’s trial.

In my expertise as a lifestyle guide, I’d like to share an insight about a comedian who chose not to tell a certain joke. She decided against it because she thought the audience might perceive the joke as implying they were connected to her personal legal matters, which she wanted to avoid at all costs. Essentially, she didn’t want to create any negative association between them and her legal issues through her humor.

Still, she ended up throwing in another, eyebrow-raising Diddy joke, which involved Zendaya.

‘Zendaya is present, and I must say she was fantastic in Dune! Honestly, I couldn’t wait for her scenes each morning. She was simply amazing. And the Challengers, you were awesome too! Now, regarding the movie, it seemed more sensual than Diddy’s credit card expenses, jokingly speaking. Oh, I share your disappointment about the absence of a lively afterparty this year. However, we must move forward. A ‘Stanley Tucci showdown’ doesn’t quite have the same charm anymore. This time around, there will be no baby oil, just an abundance of olive oil.’

Another individual not selected for inclusion hinted at Luigi Mangioni, a person currently facing murder charges in connection with the death of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson.

In his plan, Glaser wanted to deliver this humorous remark: “Tonight, Glen Powell is nominated for Hit Man. It seems that by the year’s end, you’ll only be the second most popular assassin in America.

The performer also held back from making any Catholic Church pedophile jokes.

‘We’ve all heard them, we don’t need more of that,’ she said about the following joke.

As I teetered on the edge of declining that path, she almost let slip a jest: “I adore ‘Conclave’. It’s all about selecting a new pope, and it’s heartwarming. It will move you so profoundly that the church might need to relocate the performance to a larger venue. Here’s a hint: No ID is required to attend the Conclave after-party.

Instead of making a joke, Glaser held back from labeling Adrien Brody as a “repeat Holocaust survivor” for his roles in two Holocaust-themed films (The Pianist and The Brutalist), suggesting that he was fortunate for his career due to the Holocaust.

Another witty remark left unspoken was: ‘The series “Only Murders in the Building” is fantastic. It’s incredible that veterans like Steve Martin, Martin Short and Meryl Streep are still active. It just proves that age doesn’t matter when it comes to financial necessity. Are you still grinding so hard? What gives, did you fall for the Hawk Tuah crypto scam?’

Perhaps one of the most hilarious included a swipe at Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

Initially, she joked about Ben Affleck, saying “I can’t wait to see which Jennifer you try to ruin next.” However, later on, she decided to omit that specific joke from her repertoire. Instead, she continued to make light of the situation in a different way.

She also was on the fence about poking fun at Amy Adams, but ended up deciding against it.

Glaser expressed that Amy Adams has been nominated for her role in ‘Night Bitch’, but she felt overlooked for her performance in ‘Day Slut’. She mentioned that the documentary category is competitive, and ‘Night Bitch’ is what Diddy listens to every night before he goes to bed.

Here’s another way of putting it in a simpler, more conversational tone: “She didn’t crack a joke, but if she had, it might have been something like this: ‘The Wild Robot is up for an award tonight. And I’m not talking about the movie, I’m talking about Nicole Kidman after two glasses of white wine.’

As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but bring up the subject of Alec Baldwin and the unfortunate incident on Rust. However, the comment I made seemed a bit harsh to Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, as she found it too critical.

The comedian mentioned that she almost commented, “Michael Keaton was fantastic as Beetlejuice; unfortunately, Alec Baldwin couldn’t reprise his role as a ghost due to being overly occupied with other projects.

To emulate Bob Dylan, Timothée Chalamet spent years studying singing techniques, presumably because mastering that skill requires as much effort as smoking around 40,000 cigarettes over time. Unlike Dylan, however, Chalamet honed his craft through vocal, guitar, and dialect movement lessons, whereas Dylan followed the traditional path – heroin and a unique perspective on life, often reflected in his songs about trains. Though Dylan’s autism remains undiagnosed, it’s hard to deny that he had a distinctive style.
