Nike’s Prices in the US Are Going Up

Summary

  • Nike is raising prices in the US according to a new report from Complex
  • Expect retail prices to increase from $2 USD to $10 USD at the start of June
  • Exclusions include Jordan Brand apparel, Kids’ products, budget footwear, and AF1s

As a devoted follower, I’ve noticed that the United States has been navigating a phase of unpredictability since President Donald Trump initiated fresh tariffs back in early February. The trade landscape has seen a series of heated conflicts and truces with numerous countries, leading to brief respites and adjustments. However, even amid this positive fluctuation, brands are staying vigilant, bracing for possible price fluctuations that could disrupt their supply chains. Notably, Nike is now gearing up to implement changes in its pricing strategy.

Based on a recent update from Complex, Nike plans to increase its retail prices in the United States next month, along with wholesale prices in July. This information was reportedly shared with retailers this week. The price hikes are expected to vary between $2 and $10, but certain exceptions have been made for Jordan apparel and accessories, all children’s footwear and apparel, and all footwear priced under $100, as well as Air Force 1 models, according to Complex’s report.

Nike’s new pricing strategy will be introduced when their fiscal year begins on June 1, which is marked by May 31. Keep an eye out for more news as we keep track of how tariffs are affecting the footwear industry.
