Nigma Galaxy looks like a new team at the Clavision Masters 2025

Achieving victories over XG and BOOM is satisfactory, but Tundra and PARIVISION? And to do so convincingly in a best-of-three series? Nigma has made their return!

2021 has been an unusual year for Nigma Galaxy, but they’ve managed to secure a place in the Clavision Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi upper bracket semifinals, which brings a glimmer of hope. Despite finishing the group stage with no wins (0-4), this achievement is more significant than it seems at first glance.

Nigma’s team was considered a challenging group, as they were matched with some of the top and most reliable teams throughout the season.

  • Tundra Esports: Champions of the last two BLAST Slams, with a year full of top 3–4 finishes.
  • PARIVISION: Arguably one of the favorites for this year’s The International. PARI has found considerable success since signing Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov.
  • Xtreme Gaming: Home of the legendary Wang “Ame” Chunyu. XG are China’s flagbearers, having dominated the Asian Champions League and TI2025 qualifiers.
  • BOOM Esports: The sole SEA team at the tournament. They snatched Talon’s TI slot this year, leaving names like 23savage, Mikoto, and Kuku out.

Although Nigma Galaxy has shown promising performance at the Clavision Masters 2025, it’s premature to declare them as the strongest team yet. They still need to progress through the upper bracket of the double-elimination tournament.

Nigma Galaxy’s road to the Clavision Masters 2025 playoffs

Initially, the team led by Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi squared off against BOOM Esports. It’s possible that the Southeast Asian team underestimated Nigma, allowing them to deploy their signature Morphling in Game 1. Ghost finished Game 1 with a dominant score of 10-0-8, which BOOM attempted to rectify in Game 2. However, it was SumaiL’s Puck who stood out in the following games, recovering from a subpar performance on SF.

On the second day, Nigma Galaxy faced a more challenging match against XG. Some believed focusing on shutting down Ame would be the key, but it was Xm’s offlane performance that stood out for the Chinese team. In response, Nigma made an unconventional choice by picking Lone Druid, a hero not seen in play by any other team up until then, and one that is often overlooked. Ghost’s familiarity with the region might have played a role here, catching XG off guard due to their lack of preparation.

By the third day, it was now or never for Nigma. They needed to defeat two top-tier teams, PARIVISION and Tundra. In their match against PARI, Nigma initially struggled in Game 1, appearing unsteady. However, they managed an impressive comeback in Game 2 that took over 60 minutes, only to subsequently annihilate Satanic’s team in Game 3, winning with a decisive score of 38-6 and setting a new tournament record for the quickest game at just 23 minutes.

Shockingly, Tundra didn’t stand a chance in either game. The matches concluded within 30 minutes each. From a strategic viewpoint, it seemed that Tundra underestimated their opponents by allowing Nigma to pick all their preferred heroes. This series was difficult to decipher, but Morphling and Puck turned out to be Nigma’s most effective weapons.

Can Nigma beat Tundra again in the playoffs?

As a dedicated Dota 2 gamer, I’ve been keeping an eye on the odds at my top-tier betting platforms, and it seems that Tundra is slightly favored across the board based on current standings.

Simultaneously on Reddit, fans are hopping aboard the excitement wagon. It remains uncertain if Nigma can repeat their success in the playoffs, but everyone appears excited about their performance during the group stage. For additional information, Tundra defeated BB Team 3-1 to advance to the upper bracket semifinals – another team brimming with Eastern European talent.
