Nicole Scherzinger breaks silence after being slammed for 'coming out as a Trump supporter'

I find it intriguing to observe the political leanings of public figures, and in this case, the recent actions of Nicole Scherzinger have sparked my curiosity. As someone who has been raised Catholic, with multiple weekly church visits, her support for Donald Trump seems unexpected, at least on the surface.

Nicole Scherzinger has spoken up following the criticism she received over her comment about supporting Donald Trump in Russell Brand’s election post.

On a Friday evening, the 46-year-old performer and actress, known for her intriguing political viewpoints, used her Instagram Story to speak about the ongoing debate.

She expressed sincere regret for any pain her recent social media interactions might have caused.

In my comments on those posts, I didn’t fully grasp that they might seem political, and for anyone who inferred this, I offer my sincere apologies.

She clarified that while people might have formed their own interpretations about her statement, it doesn’t align with her actual beliefs or whom she supported in the election.

She explained: ‘Many of the marginalized communities feeling hurt and concerned by the results of the presidential election are people I care about most. I stand with them, as I always have, throughout my life and career.

‘If you know me, you know that.’

Nicole went on to explain that the hat with the phrase ‘Bring Jesus Back to the Forefront’ – reminiscent of the iconic ‘Make America Great Again’ cap associated with the Trump campaign – essentially symbolized her personal beliefs and her reliance on faith during challenging moments in her life.

She shared: Just as many others do during hardships and doubtful times, I find solace in my faith. The messages I engaged with seemed aimed at inspiring people to prioritize love and faith – “making Jesus a priority.” For me, Christ symbolizes tranquility, empathy, optimism, and most importantly, boundless love, especially for those who might feel it the least right now.

‘I come from a place of love, and I will always support values that bring us closer together.

‘It’s so important we come together with compassion, and love one another more now than ever.’

Recently, she sparked disappointment among fans when she endorsed Russell Brand’s campaign “Make Jesus First Again”.

The photo was posted on Election Day and captured Russell, 49, proudly brandishing a red ‘Make Jesus First Again’ hat. ‘God Bless America,’ he captioned the post.

46-year-old Scherzinger expressed her interest in a hat resembling the MAGA symbol, saying, “Where can I buy this hat?!” accompanied by prayer hand and red heart emojis.

The singer of The Pussycat Dolls doesn’t seem to have shown support for an Instagram post by liking it, nor has she openly backed any political candidate. However, her positive comment about the hat caused a wave of indignation among other Instagram users.

DailyMail.com has contacted a representative for Scherzinger for comment at the time.

The image was posted prior to Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election against Kamala Harris, who had championed the phrase ‘Make America Great Again.’

Instagram followers replied to Nicole with ‘No, hun, this ain’t it at all.’

‘F***ing hell, Nicole, not this,’ another wrote.

“Another commented, ‘Encouraging for a potential predator.’ Previously, Russell faced accusations last year of rape, sexual misconduct, and emotional mistreatment that supposedly occurred during the peak of his career, with authorities looking into the claims. However, Brand has strongly refuted all allegations.

Trump has been accused on multiple occasions of inappropriate sexual behavior, and in May of this year, a court in New York determined that he was responsible for sexually abusing author E. Jean Carroll.

On platform X, a follower commented about Nicole Scherzinger’s announcement: “It seems entirely plausible that Nicole Scherzinger is supporting Trump.

One quipped that the post may have hurt the Sunset Blvd. star’s odds at getting a Tony.

‘Well the Best Actress Tony race just got a little less competitive,’ another tweeted.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2019, Scherzinger revealed that she was brought up as a Catholic and attends church several times a week.

English actor Brand, meanwhile, has previously weighed in on American politics.

Prior to President Joe Biden officially ending his campaign and Vice President Kamala Harris taking over, Brand expressed confusion as to why individuals who value freedom might opt for Biden instead of Trump in the election held in June.

During a recent episode on his podcast titled ‘Stay Free With Russell Brand’, Russell Brand vocalized his discontent regarding the U.S. presidential election.

Brand, who has been vocal against censorship, said he feels ‘concerned’ about the ‘snobbery, contempt and condemnation’ by liberals of Trump supporters who are ‘plainly held by his detractors’, adding that they have been responsible for the ‘weaponization of the legal system’.

If you value democracy and freedom, it seems challenging to consider anyone other than Donald Trump when making your voting decision, according to what some argue are the very reasons you shouldn’t,” the comedian expressed.

He went on to say that ‘they act as if a vote for is almost like you’re directly voting for Armageddon, like you see hysterical performances outside of courtrooms, endless MSNBC bombast.’

However, I’m starting to believe that perhaps a more significant danger to democracy is this form of technological feudalism, which gives the impression of caring for you and safeguarding vulnerable individuals. At the same time, it amplifies censorship, boosts war funding, and widens the gap between average citizens in America.
