The 44-year-old TV star recently celebrated a big moment for her oldest child. She and her husband, Joel Madden, are also parents to a 16-year-old son named Sparrow.

It was a really sweet post! But the big surprise? When she tagged her daughter, it turns out Harlow is now going by Kate – her middle name! Richie has talked before about the experience of raising her two kids, who are now teenagers.
In a 2024 interview with Interview Magazine, she described motherhood as both incredibly challenging and wonderfully rewarding.
The same year, the TV personality got candid about raising Kate and Sparrow as they became teens.
I vividly remember being a teenager – it feels like yesterday! My kids are aware of everything I did back then,” she told Glamour.
I realized even before meeting them that honesty about my identity was essential. Surprisingly, being open about who I am has been incredibly liberating.
She explained that she didn’t want her children to suddenly learn something significant about her unexpectedly. She’s always prioritized open and honest communication with them, and hopes they feel comfortable doing the same with her.
Richie also told Today that her ‘favorite stage’ of parenting so far has been raising teenagers.
The celebrity said it’s amazing how easily she can recall being sixteen years old, as the memories are still very vivid.
Whenever my daughter shares stories about her friend troubles, I always have a matching memory. I can even recall the names of the people involved from when I was her age, which is funny and a little surprising. It really brings back memories!
In addition to being a mother, Richie is also actively working in the entertainment business.
She teamed up with her good friend Paris Hilton again for the 2024 season of ‘Paris & Nicole: The Encore,’ marking twenty years since their original show, ‘The Simple Life.’
That year, the actor also appeared in a new version of the 1991 movie, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.
In a recent interview with Interview Magazine, Richie shared that she’s finding her 40s to be the most enjoyable decade of her life.
I’ve noticed I mention my age a lot lately. It’s just that I want people to realize I’m not thinking like someone in their twenties anymore… I’m not naive.
