Nicole Kidman’s heartbreaking comments on divorce revealed in resurfaced interview amid split from Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman’s views on marriage have been revealed in a resurfaced interview

In the new Tubi documentary, Nicole Kidman: Outback to Oscars, the actress movingly shared her lifelong belief that marriage should be a permanent commitment.

A video from 1992 shows journalist Paul Holmes questioning Nicole Kidman about her relationship while she was promoting her movie, Far and Away, alongside her husband at the time, Tom Cruise.

Holmes asked, ‘You’ve said this marriage is the one and only for you. What makes you so sure?’

Nicole Kidman believes that if you fully commit to something and aren’t afraid to own that decision, then achieving it is possible.

In the documentary, which follows Nicole Kidman’s career from the beginning, she revealed she felt lonely even after winning the Best Actress Oscar in 2003 for her role in The Hours.

She explained that winning an Oscar, while a high point, ultimately led her to realize, ‘This isn’t what I’m looking for.’

Despite being surrounded by luxury – I had a gold statue and was at the Beverly Hills Hotel – I felt incredibly alone. It was a strangely isolating experience.

Tom Cruise, now 63, and Nicole Kidman, 58, first met while filming the movie Days of Thunder. They quickly fell in love and were married on December 24, 1990, after a less than year-long romance.

Their marriage unexpectedly ended when Tom left Nicole after 12 years together.

Sources say Nicole was completely shocked when Tom Cruise filed for divorce, claiming they had issues that couldn’t be resolved.

He reportedly left her because she wouldn’t join the Church of Scientology.

Their children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 30, who were adopted, reportedly joined their father’s church and have cut off all contact with Nicole.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are divorcing after reportedly growing apart. Kidman filed the paperwork in September, citing differences that couldn’t be resolved.

According to a source who spoke with People magazine, Nicole is deeply hurt and feels betrayed by the divorce. The news came as a shock and is incredibly upsetting for her.

Kidman recently shared how she’s faring after filing for divorce.

Actress Kiernan Shipka, known for her role in ‘The Baby Girl,’ recently interviewed Ariana Grande for Interview magazine. However, the conversation began with Grande, 32, simply asking Shipka how she was doing.

Nicole Kidman subtly suggested she was struggling, simply saying, ‘I’m hanging in there.’

Their marriage started to unravel in the summer of 2025. Sources at the Daily Mail say the separation had been building for months, as they grew apart due to their busy work lives and increasing distance between them.

The pair met at the G’Day LA gala ball in January 2005.

Nicole revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that it took Keith Urban four months to finally ask her on a date after they first met.

Kidman and Urban were married in June 2006 and were last seen together this June.

They share two daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.
