Nicole Kidman embraces old Hollywood glamour at the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles – days after her mother’s funeral in Australia
As I delve deeper into the captivating lives of these remarkable individuals, I find myself in awe of their resilience and grace. The Kidman-Urban family, bound by love and loss, stands as a beacon of strength and unity.
On Sunday, Nicole Kidman epitomized classic Hollywood elegance as she graced the red carpet at the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala held in Los Angeles.
At the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, the 57-year-old Australian actress radiated eternal elegance and grace while striking a pose on the red carpet during the event.
The Babygirl star wowed in a floor-length black gown that featured an exposed back segment, an elegant train and long black gloves that snaked up her lithe arms.
At the glamorous gathering filled with celebrities, Nicole chose to wear fewer accessories. She complemented her timeless outfit with a stylish gold watch and eye-catching earrings instead.
She wore her blonde locks parted and tied back, adding height with a ’60s style backcomb.
At the event, Rita Moreno, renowned for her veteran status, Paul Mescal who played the lead in Gladiator II, and Quentin Tarantino, famously known as the director of Pulp Fiction, were all celebrated.
Nicole made a public appearance on the red carpet not long after the funeral of her cherished mother, Janelle, in Australia.
The actress went back to her hometown, Sydney, to reunite with her family, which includes her little sister Antonia, for a heartfelt farewell to their mother.
In September, Janelle passed away at the age of 84, mere hours prior to Nicole receiving the Best Actress award for her performance in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.
On Sunday, Nicole and her spouse, Keith Urban, accompanied by their daughters Sunday Rose (age 16) and Faith Margaret (age 14), paid their respects at Janelle’s funeral held at St Francis Xavier Church.
At the event, it seemed like Nicole Kidman’s adopted children Bella and Connor, whom she had with her former spouse Tom Cruise, were not present.
They joined Nicole’s sister Antonia and her kids Lucia, 26, Hamish, 23, and Sybella Hawley, 17, who she shares with her late husband Angus Hawley, at the ceremony.
Antonia has another child named James, who was with Angus (who passed away in April 2015 due to suspected heart attack) as a shared son. Later, she had two additional sons, Nicholas and Alexander, with her subsequent spouse, Craig Marran.
At the small ceremony, the Kidman family was accompanied by their dear friends, such as Richard Wilkins from Channel Nine, who is 69 years old, and his partner in makeup, Mia Hawkswell, aged 47.
Australian television host Peter Overton, alongside his wife Jessica Rowe and their two daughters, Allegra and Giselle, were all there as well.
For several years, the Overton and Kidman-Urban families have maintained a strong bond, celebrating significant events like New Year’s Eve together. On January 1, 2023, they marked the start of the new year in style at the renowned family’s luxury penthouse in North Sydney.
Additionally, Peter took part in carrying the casket during Father Antony’s funeral that occurred on September 19, 2014. This somber event took place at the very same church where Janelle’s service had been held.
In Singapore, at the age of 75, Antony is believed to have passed away due to a heart attack. The Kidmans bid farewell to him during a more public funeral service, where numerous well-known figures such as Russell Crowe offered their condolences.
