Nicole Kidman, formerly married to Tom Cruise, publicly expressed her affection for her husband of 19 years in June when they commemorated their wedding anniversary.

I was so thrilled to see the photos! Just four days ago, the Oscar-winning actress was absolutely beaming, showing off the stunning engagement ring that Keith Urban proposed with. She was at a Hollywood event, headlining for a luxury skincare and beauty company, and honestly, you could just feel her happiness radiating. It was such a beautiful moment!

The stunning star who shares two daughters with the hitmaker finally seemed to have it all.

Then on Monday, news broke that the couple had separated.

The sudden separation seemed completely unexpected, with sources saying that Kidman was caught off guard by Urban’s choice to take some time away.

But for those who noticed, the fact that Urban didn’t reciprocate his wife’s anniversary message on Instagram on June 25th was likely a warning sign. It should probably have been a red flag.

‘Happy Anniversary baby @keithurban,’ she wrote alongside a black and white photo of them cuddling.

However, Urban didn’t offer any personal response of his own; he just reacted to her post with a quick and impersonal ❤️ emoji.

Keith last posted with Nicole in May 2025. This was shortly after he received the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award.

The famous couple was last seen together at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas, on May 8th. He received the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award at the event.

‘So much fun with my Triple Crown winner! Thank you @acmawards!’ Nicole gushed at the time.

At the start of his acceptance speech, Keith affectionately acknowledged Kidman, even using her full middle name: ‘My wife, Nicole Mary, is here tonight. I love you, Babygirl!’

Urban even had the endearing nickname tattooed on the back of his neck as a tribute to his role as the global brand ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté.

In January, Nicole shared her secret to a happy marriage in an interview with W Magazine: “Having a double shower is the key! A shower with two heads-that’s the key to a successful marriage. We also have separate toilets and that double-headed shower!”

On Monday, the Daily Mail reported that the couple ended their 19-year marriage and are no longer together. They have two children.

Nicole’s Instagram slideshow, shared on August 19 and filled with summer memories, showed her with her daughters, 17-year-old Sunday and 14-year-old Faith, and her sister, Antonia Kidman. There was no sign of Keith Urban anywhere in the post.

On June 30th, Urban, originally named Urbahn, unexpectedly stopped a Zoom interview with Hayley & Max in the Morning. This happened when they questioned him about the romantic scene between Kidman and Zac Efron in the Netflix movie, A Family Affair.

Co-host Max Burford wondered, “What goes through Keith Urban’s mind when he watches his lovely wife, Nicole Kidman, sharing romantic scenes on television with handsome, younger actors like Zac Efron?”

Apparently, a producer shared that the team of the Australian, who was born in New Zealand, ended the call because they didn’t want us to pursue that line of questioning.

Last December, Kidman shared with People magazine about the four-time Grammy winner: ‘I enjoy when he asks me on dates, and he still does… I love the mystery of not knowing what he has planned. Surprise me!’

But when E! News suggested they were a ‘perfect couple,’ the producer and star of Nine Perfect Strangers reacted with a dismissive: ‘I don’t see any of that.’

Shortly after marrying Nicole in 2006, Keith entered a three-month rehabilitation program at the Betty Ford Center to address addiction to cocaine and alcohol. This followed just a year after they first met at the G’Day LA event.

‘[It nearly] blew our marriage to smithereens,’ Urban recalled last year while presenting Kidman with the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award.

Starting in May, Keith has been traveling across North America for his High and Alive Tour, with 28 shows scheduled. He’ll be performing at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA this Thursday.

Keith Urban will serve as an executive producer and judge on the new reality TV show The Road. The competition features 12 aspiring performers vying for the opening act slot, and it will debut on October 19th on both CBS and Paramount+.

On September 13th, Nicole finished filming her part as the witch Gillian Owens, alongside Sandra Bullock, on the set of Practical Magic 2 in England. The shoot had lasted for about two months, and was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are also working as producers on the highly anticipated follow-up to Griffin Dunne’s 1998 hit film, directed by Susanne Bier. The sequel is currently scheduled for release in US cinemas on September 18, 2026.
