Nicola Coughlan went Instagram official with her boyfriend Jake Dunn on Wednesday.

38-year-old actress from Bridgerton shared a touching tribute on her Instagram stories in honor of her boyfriend’s 25th birthday.

She shared a photo of Dunn sitting on what appears to be a set as he looked up at the sky.

“Happy Birthday ♥️,” she wrote on the post. 

Nicola and Jake crossed paths following an introduction orchestrated by Louisa Harland, her fellow Derry Girls cast member and good friend.

After keeping their blossoming love a secret for several months, Nicola and Jake openly acknowledged their romantic connection in October. This revelation came when they were seen leaving a pub in North London, holding hands.

According to their friends, the couple is deeply in love and always enjoy being together. Remarkably, even with their hectic routines, they have effortlessly blended into each other’s lives because they have a vast circle of common friends.

In 2023, Jake, a graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, has acted alongside Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn, both known for their roles in Nicola’s Derry Girls, who are 32 years old.

Similar to Nicola, another actor who hails from London has also graced a period drama, specifically Disney’s Renegade Nell, sharing screen time with Louisa.

According to the source, after Derry Girls concluded, Nicola, Dylan, and Louisa continued to be close friends who consistently backed each other in their professional endeavors. Consequently, it was fitting that Nicola crossed paths with Jake.

At his drama school, Jake had already been cast in Channel 4’s “Big Boys” alongside Dylan, with scripts penned by Jack Rooke, a good friend of Nicola’s.

This group of pals frequently backs one another’s endeavors and can often be seen socializing in the vibrant Stoke Newington district of North West London, as Nicola owns a residence there.

In September, Jake shared an Instagram photo of Jack, who was 31 at the time, enjoying a drink in a pub. He wore a baseball cap emblazoned with “Nicola Coughlan,” and a T-shirt that said: “And her admirable bust.

In addition, Louisa was seen donning a hat emblazoned with ‘Shady Whistledown’, subtly referencing Penelope Featherington from Bridgerton, who is known as the enigmatic Lady Whistledown in the series.

They were initially seen together as early as March, appearing in an Instagram story posted by one of Jake’s fellow actors from the show “Renegade Nell.

At London’s All Points East festival in August, they were spotted dancing with their arms around one another, however, their romantic involvement was yet to be verified.

This summer, TopMob unveils that the couple has relished spending time with their circle of intimate friends, participating in festivals, sipping Guinness, and engaging in Scrabble games at Nicola’s neighborhood pub in Stoke Newington.

In October, the pair were observed in New York at a recording of Saturday Night Live, the late-night comedy show, and an eyewitness commented: ‘His girlfriend was standing there with him, beaming with pride as fans approached, expressing their admiration.’

Although Nicola, hailing from Galway, boasts a decade-long presence in the acting scene, landing her major role in Channel 4’s Derry Girls, Jake is relatively new to the limelight, having just completed his education at a drama school.

However, the charming British thespian successfully landed the main part in Disney’s show “Renegade Nell,” with a follow-up season planned for him. Additionally, he has multiple stage performances, a Netflix series, and a full-length movie lined up – all during his time at drama school.

In his ascending career, Jake is fortunate to have well-known acquaintances such as Ellie Bamber from The Trial of Christine Keeler and Connor Swindell from Sex Education.
