Nicki Minaj lost a lawsuit and has been ordered to pay $503,000. If she doesn’t make the payment, she could lose her $20 million California home.
In 2024, Judge Cindy Pánuco sided with former security guard Thomas Weidenmüller in a lawsuit against the 43-year-old singer known for her hit ‘Super Bass’.
In a 2022 lawsuit, Weidenmüller accused the singer of the ‘Barbie World’ song of allowing her husband, Kenneth Petty, to assault him in Germany back in March 2019.
Despite the court ruling, Nicki Minaj hasn’t paid the full amount she owes. In November 2025, the judge indicated she was considering selling Minaj’s large Hidden Hills, California home to cover the payment owed to Weidenmüller.
Unless Nicki Minaj pays Weidenmüller, the judge is expected to issue a final decision in the case on Thursday, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Nicki Minaj and the lawyer of Karl Weidenmüller, asking for additional statements.
Unless Nicki Minaj pays the money she owes by Thursday, a judge may order the sale of her home to satisfy the debt, according to documents from the Daily Mail. So far, she hasn’t paid the full amount.
According to legal documents filed by singer Weidenmüller’s lawyer, Paul A. Saso, the singer’s continued refusal to pay the court-ordered judgement suggests a costly and persistent defiance of the ruling.
Saso explained that while they unfortunately had to force the sale of Minaj’s house, this was entirely due to her refusal to make payments.
Okay, so like, Nicki Minaj is HUGE. Seriously, she’s a global superstar, and everyone says her net worth is somewhere between $150 and $190 million! Can you believe it? And get this – she’s supposedly the highest-paid female rapper in the world! I just… I can’t even handle how amazing she is.
She clearly has the financial means to pay the full amount owed, but continues to refuse, even after repeated written requests and attempts to collect the debt from her known creditors.
Honestly, it’s been years since the court decided things, and my client deserves that money now! It’s ridiculous he’s had to wait this long – he shouldn’t have to wait a single day more, as far as I’m concerned. It’s just not fair!
The lawyer also stated that Minaj’s unwillingness to pay wastes the court’s time and disregards its rulings.
Saso stated his client is asking the court to quickly sell Minaj’s property in Southern California so he can finally be fully compensated.
According to Rolling Stone, Judge Pánuco outlined last fall what would happen to Minaj’s home if she doesn’t resolve her financial obligations.
The judge wanted to clarify a potential issue. She explained that if no one offers the full $20 million, and the property is auctioned for less than its actual worth, it might not cover all outstanding costs.
The judge explained that if the offered payment doesn’t fully address all necessary costs – like the court judgment in this case – they would consider that information when making a decision.
These legal issues arise a few weeks after Nicki Minaj sparked discussion by attending the Turning Point USA AmericaFest event in Arizona.
During her performance at AmericaFest, the singer known as Trollz revealed she’s become a supporter of both Donald Trump and JD Vance, appreciating their straightforward way of speaking.
Nicki Minaj said her team is made up of passionate and dedicated people who she’s proud to work with. She also expressed her affection for both the president and vice president.
‘Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.’
During their conversation, Nicki Minaj briefly called Kevin Vance an ‘assassin,’ but quickly said she misspoke. This comment deeply affected Kirk, as it reminded him of the tragic murder of her husband, who was killed by an assassin in September while at college in Utah.
You know, after taking a deep breath, I decided I wasn’t going to let a clumsy choice of words from Minaj derail our conversation. It’s so important to not let someone else’s misstep dictate how you react, and I really wanted to keep things productive. It’s about focusing on the bigger picture, not getting hung up on phrasing.
‘If the internet wants to clip it, who cares? I love this woman,’ Kirk said of Minaj.
