I’m so relieved to hear that Tylor Chase is finally getting the medical attention he desperately needs! It’s amazing how quickly his friends and family came together to support him. I’ve been following his story, and it’s just wonderful to know he’s in a Southern California hospital getting care.
Daniel Curtis Lee, who worked with Chase on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, shared that Chase’s father told Jake Harris – a Los Angeles influencer and business owner – to do everything he could to support his son.
I was so relieved when I finally connected with a crisis team that could come to us right away on Christmas Day. They quickly assessed the situation and decided he needed urgent care, so they took him to the hospital for a 72-hour stay to get the help he desperately needed.
Harris got involved in helping Chase get better because he knows Shaun Weiss, the actor from The Mighty Ducks. Weiss dealt with addiction in 2023 but is now on the path to recovery.
Lee, 34, previously stated he wasn’t sure if Chase, 36, had sought medical attention on his own, but he confirmed he and other friends video-called Chase on Monday to urge him to get help.
Lee told the Daily Mail that Jake’s father said he’d told Jake to get Tylor into treatment any way he could. Lee hopes this will help Tylor stay in treatment.
Chase was spotted out and about in Southern California on Wednesday, despite the rainy weather. He stayed cozy in a red coat, layered over a black hooded sweatshirt, paired with gray pants and black Nike sneakers.

On Monday, 47-year-old Weiss publicly asked for help finding Chase, explaining he wanted to reach out and offer support. He said he’d been moved by the many heartfelt messages people had posted online about the actor.
Later that day, he shared in a video that they’d found a bed for the individual at a detox center, and also secured a location for ongoing, long-term treatment.
However, Weiss told the Daily Mail that their initial attempt on Monday night didn’t go exactly as they hoped.
They managed to get Chase a hotel room, but he didn’t agree to go to the hospital or a detox center as they hoped he would.
Jake was talking with Tyler and trying to build trust, which is hard given how Tyler’s doing, explained Weiss. Tyler seemed willing to get help and consider going to detox.
The actor said Chase seemed frightened at one point and then stopped cooperating with efforts to help him. He recalled Chase saying something along the lines of, “I’m happy with how things are,” which the actor believes is untrue, stating that Chase is actually unhappy with his life.
Weiss mentioned Harris also reached out to the local police for help, and noted that the authorities were very cooperative.
‘We’re just doing whatever we have to do to sort of get him off the street,’ he said.

Police stated to the Daily Mail that Chase was polite and worked well with them. However, they also told TMZ that Chase repeatedly refused offers of housing, help with substance abuse, or mental health care.
Late Monday, Harris shared on Instagram that he spent an hour with Chase while Chase’s father and fellow actors tried to reach him.
Harris wrote that they expressed their love and strong desire for him to accept help.
He’s connected with the people who can provide the support he needs, and he has a hotel room for the night so he can take the time to consider his options privately.
Lee commented under Harris’ post: ‘Thanks for getting the ball rolling for his treatment Jake.’
I’ve been really worried about Chase ever since I found out back in November that he was struggling. A friend told me he’d seen a TikTok video where Chase opened up about dealing with both mental health issues and substance abuse, and it’s been on my mind ever since. It was a really brave thing for him to share, but honestly, it just made me feel so concerned for his well-being.
‘It was devastating to see someone I grew up with in this condition,’ Lee added.
Oh my gosh, I was so heartbroken to hear about Chase! It turns out, like a lot of us who grew up watching him on Nickelodeon, he hadn’t been in touch with him recently, which is so sad. But even though they weren’t close lately, it still just absolutely crushed me to find out he was going through such a tough time. I just always loved Martin Qwerly and Chase, and it’s awful to hear he was struggling. It just feels so personal, you know?

Lee, currently producing and directing a reality show starring two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields, still found time to connect with his former co-star and fondly remember their childhood together.
You know, as someone who spends a lot of time observing people, I can always tell when there’s still a spark within. Even though Tylor has clearly been through a lot – life on the streets leaves its mark – I can still see a glimmer of hope in his eyes. It’s a powerful reminder that everyone deserves a second look, and that inner light is still there, even when it’s dimmed by hardship.
I also spoke with Tylor’s mom, Paula, and she really stressed that simply giving him money isn’t helpful – in fact, it could actually be dangerous for him. She feels it’s better to focus on support that doesn’t involve direct cash transfers.
However, the matriarch ‘shared that her door is open’ to her son, Lee said.
The former star of Zeke and Luther, now 34, shared that he’s still thinking of Chase and sending him good wishes. However, he also asked that people respect Tylor’s privacy and avoid recording him if they are offering assistance.
He finished by expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support he’d received from fans and those who were influenced by Tylor’s early work, hoping it would help him move towards a better future.
On Monday, Chase gave an exclusive interview to the Daily Mail while walking around Riverside, California, close to a 7-Eleven. He was dressed in a worn purple jacket, a large gray t-shirt, dark pants, and brown loafers. Witnesses saw him collecting discarded cigarette butts and Christmas cards.
In a heartfelt message to his mother, he said: ‘I love you. I’ll talk to you soon.’

Before becoming homeless, Chase lived with his family and created videos that showed his struggles with difficult emotions and personal challenges.
Oh my god, I just re-watched this old video from 2014, it’s called ‘Bipolar’, and it destroyed me. He said he felt like a leaf just being swept along in a gutter, knowing he’d eventually just…disappear down the drain. It’s so hauntingly beautiful and perfectly captures how he felt, honestly. It breaks my heart every time I see it, knowing how much pain he was in, even then. It’s just…wow. It explains so much.
I’m going through a difficult period and feel lost. I believe I have the potential to improve things, but at the moment, I feel like a performer who’s lost their essential tools and audience. It’s like my act has lost its spark, and people have stopped coming to see it.
He seemed to be reaching out for help, saying he felt trapped by his bipolar disorder. He questioned if he was destined to suffer, if his efforts were pointless, and if he even mattered.
