Nick Knowles’ wife Katie Dadzie rushed to hospital with complications from lifesaving surgery last week that’s left her ‘crying with the pain’

Katie Dadzie, the wife of Nick Knowles, has been readmitted to the hospital following life-saving surgery she underwent last week.

DIY SOS star Nick, 63, used social media to give fans an update on Katie’s health, sharing a photo from the hospital of his wife who is unwell.

He wrote: ‘It’s sad to hear @katieaknowles is back in the hospital. She’s experiencing further complications following her life-saving surgery last week – but she’s still managing to smile through all the pain and medical treatments. (Except when the pain becomes too much to bear and she’s understandably upset).’

It’s hard to express how much my amazing wife has been through recently – and that’s not just dealing with me! She’s faced medical treatments and a difficult recovery, experienced setbacks, and had to rebuild her progress repeatedly. Through it all, she’s shown incredible strength and resolve, allowing herself to cry when she needs to.

Nick finished his gushing post writing: ‘I’m so proud of her.’

Fans flocked to the comments to send Katie, 35, well-wishes, including their celebrity pals.

Presenter Nicki Chapman wrote: ‘Sending love to you both. She’s a brave one xxx’

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Ollie Locke shared: ‘Sending you both all our love and thoughts Xxxxx

While one fan posted: ‘Hope she gets better soon! Wishing you smooth recovery.’

Oh my gosh, I was absolutely devastated to hear about Katie! Apparently, she had to be rushed into emergency surgery just last week. It’s just… awful. She was experiencing what they called ‘crippling pain‘ after her hysterectomy. I’ve been following her story for ages, and I just can’t imagine how much she must be suffering. I’m so worried about her recovery – I’m constantly checking for updates! It’s just… heartbreaking. I’m sending all my love and hoping for a speedy recovery. This is just the worst news!

The owner of the lingerie business had the procedure done in July after living with years of pain caused by PCOS and endometriosis.

Oh my gosh, it was terrifying! After she’d been recovering for 12 weeks, she had a huge scare and ended up needing to go to A&E! It was a major setback, and I was so worried about her recovery. I just hope she gets better soon!

Oh my god, she told me everything! Apparently, the stitches from where they’d sewn up her cervix just… gave way. She was in so much pain, and bleeding, and she actually said she almost passed out! She kept repeating it was the ‘most terrifying day I’ve ever had‘ – I seriously felt so bad for her! It was just awful to hear, but she was so brave sharing it. I’m just so worried about her.

Following her operation to repair her back, she described feeling sore, bruised, and tired and expressed her disappointment that she had to begin the recovery process anew.

Katie described a serious complication in a detailed post: ‘The area where my cervix had been treated and closed reopened, causing internal issues. This led to severe stomach pain, trouble breathing, intensely painful bloating, heavy bleeding, internal fluids leaking, and even displacement of my bowel – where it shouldn’t have been. ‘

On Saturday, the pain was so intense that I was unable to move or walk. I was alone in the kitchen, crying from 2:00 AM to 5:30 AM. I almost fainted from the pain.

Aside from feeling tired and dealing with menopause, my recovery was finally progressing nicely. I was mostly back to my usual self – though I did return to work the day after my hysterectomy, which probably wasn’t the smartest move.

Oh my gosh, I had to be rushed into emergency surgery! I honestly thought it would be a *long* day of just waiting around, but they were so fast! They did all these blood tests, a CT scan, and had me prepped and ready to go under the knife in *less than 10 hours*! It was insane, honestly. I was so impressed – and terrified, of course, but mostly impressed with how quickly they acted. I couldn’t believe it! It all happened so fast!

I overheard doctors discussing the possibility that my bowel had a hole in it, potentially needing major open surgery and another spinal tap. I imagined every possible outcome, and it was absolutely frightening. The medical team had three surgical plans prepared, and two of them were very complex. Thankfully, a team of 6 surgeons and 2 anaesthetists cared for me, which helped to calm me down a little during the most painful & terrifying day of my life.

Fortunately, the surgeons were able to bring me back into the operating room, repair the issues, and close me up.

I’m feeling really sore, bruised, and tired, and I’m so disappointed that I have to start my recovery all over again. But I’m grateful it’s been taken care of, because the pain I felt on Saturday night was absolutely unbearable!

Nick and Katie tied the knot in June of this year with a luxurious wedding costing over £100,000 at Braxted Park in Essex.
