As I delve into this captivating narrative, I find myself profoundly moved by the resilience and determination of Nick Hewer, the beloved TV personality. His journey through the tumultuous times of lockdowns, weight gain, and subsequent loss, is indeed an inspiring tale of adaptability and grit.

Nick Knowles proudly displayed the result of his 3.5-stone weight reduction, having previously confessed to gaining over 4.5 stones during the lockdown period.

Previously, it was disclosed that the presenter of DIY SOS, who is now 61 years old, found himself tipping the scales at over 127 kilograms during the pandemic. However, in preparation for his upcoming appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, he has been diligently adhering to a restrictive eating plan to lose weight.

After leaving the gym, he found pleasure in consuming pastries and spending time indoors, a lifestyle change that resulted in significant weight increase. However, more recently, he’s been working out at the gym once again with an aim to regain his fitness.

The star has switched to a low-carb meal plan and is dedicating two hours daily for workouts, gearing up for Strictly Come Dancing’s commencement in September.

He showed off the results on Tuesday as he headed to the gym with his fiancée Katie Dadzie, 33.

Nick proudly displayed his trimmed physique while wearing a navy polo neck and pants, and holding hands with his business associate, who is also an entrepreneur.

The television presenter has disclosed that, following his gym visits for the dance program, he’s shed an impressive 7 kilograms so far.

Previously, my heart skipped a beat when a fellow enthusiast tweeted about tracking our collective weight loss journey for the upcoming dance competition – they set their goal at an impressive 3.5 stones! As for me, I’m all in and eagerly anticipating the transformation ahead.

As a devoted admirer, let me share that this screen legend confided in us about his recent transformations. He’s been diligently working out at the gym and adhering to a disciplined eating regimen. The results are evident – he’s shed an impressive 7 kilos already!

At the gym, Nick posted a video of himself almost losing balance on the treadmill, humorously commenting that he was playing around during his preparation for Strictly fitness training and narrowly avoided falling.

Nick seems to be enjoying his training regime and seems to be committed to getting in shape.

In an interview with The Mirror in 2021, he commented: “I’ve earned my income by appearing as a large toolbox on television. Currently, I weigh around 18 stone, making me quite large.”

As a die-hard enthusiast, you’d often find me lurking around construction sites, soaking up the sights and sounds of progress. The pandemic threw a wrench in my routine, and I found myself piling on nearly four stones. But I’ve been relentless in my pursuit to shed some weight, and now, I’m proud to say that I’ve managed to lose two stones. I’m back on the path to fitness, one step at a time!

In the initial UK lockdown that began in March 2020, the television figure paused his exercise routines to concentrate more on his writing tasks instead.

Additionally, he too became part of the crowd who started baking banana bread at home, and indulged in savoring pies.

The weight he recently lost from the stones is added to the 2.5 stones he had already shed earlier this year, which was his lockdown weight reduction.

Back in June, I openly discussed my weight loss journey on This Morning. When Ben Shephard expressed surprise at my agility during rock climbing, I must admit, I wasn’t expecting him to be taken aback by it.

Smiling broadly, Nick responded: “Actually, I’m 61 years old, and you might have observed that the papers mentioned I added some pounds during the lockdown.”

‘I have lost about two and a half stone of it, I have got another stone to go.’

In November 2021, Nick faced unkind online mockery when he put on a wetsuit for the DIY SOS Children In Need Special.

Speaking candidly on BBC’s Morning Live, I shared that the comments did not faze me. You see, I gained quite a bit of weight during the initial lockdown period and have since been focusing on my health and wellness journey.

It turns out I didn’t get a chance for any exercise routines, as I found myself immersed in writing projects, baking numerous loaves of banana bread, growing a large beard, and staying indoors. As a result, I ended up writing quite extensively instead.

When it was time for the shoot, I initially thought I’d neaten myself up, but upon reflection, I decided against it because a good number of people, not all, had been following the Joe Wicks workout trend. Not everyone spends a significant part of their day at the gym.

Based on my personal observation and experiences, I’ve noticed that some individuals tend to gain a significant amount of weight. In light of this, I decided to tackle this issue head-on from the get-go. After all, addressing health concerns early is essential for maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Last year, Nick found himself facing his weight issues head-on during an extremely challenging stunt for his program “The Grand Canyon” on Channel 5.

The presenter told Radio X how he got jammed in a crevice while caving and explained that much of the system around the caves is built for ‘skinny people’.

He said: ‘You have to go through ‘horizontal chimneys’ which are for real cavers, who are like whippets — they’re tiny, skinny people.

However, my supervisor indicated, “Proceed this way, as there’s a cave beyond it where we can converse comfortably.”

Nick recalled how he began to panic after he got wedged and was unable to move his shoulders.

He expressed: “Midway through, I felt as though I was saying, ‘This is beyond me, it’s simply too overwhelming.’ I experienced rapid heartbeats, and it was truly petrifying.”

At one moment, I found myself stuck solidly, unable to squeeze my arms past the tight spot. My heart began racing, and I gasped, “Breathe, breathe, breathe.”

‘The caver said to me, “So how are you feeling about your life choices?” ‘
