Nick Knowles cuts a glum figure as he sports an arm AND leg brace after suffering string of injuries during his Strictly Come Dancing stint
As a seasoned observer of the world of entertainment, I must say that Nick Knowles has truly outdone himself this time around. His journey on Strictly Come Dancing, despite the numerous hurdles he faced, was nothing short of inspiring. The DIY SOS host, who is more accustomed to wielding hammers and saws than gliding across dance floors, displayed an indomitable spirit that was truly captivating.
Nick Knowles, from Strictly, appeared downcast while out and about in Surrey on Friday, as he was seen wearing a brace on both his arm and leg at a garage visit.
In the third week, Nick Knowles, who is the host of DIY SOS and 62 years old, was removed from the program following a prior absence during Movie Week due to an injury affecting both his shoulder and knee.
For the outing, Nick adopted a relaxed appearance, sporting a black polo neck sweater and matching brown plaid pants, with his supportive clothing layered on top.
Before getting his car cleaned, he talked to an employee, then got behind the wheel and drove home afterwards.
After falling during rehearsals for the BBC competition, Nick ended up needing an MRI scan and walking with crutches instead of freely moving around.
In my personal experience, an unexpected mishap occurred when I was en route to celebrate my own birthday. My vehicle conked out, leaving me stranded. As I attempted to change the tire myself, I inadvertently sustained an injury to my arm. A lesson learned: always expect the unexpected and be prepared for life’s twists and turns!
Nick has shared his plans for the final group dance on Strictly Come Dancing, responding affirmatively when a fan inquired about it.
In a more casual, conversational style: “Is it possible for you to perform the finale dance since it wouldn’t feel quite right without you there?
Nick responded: “I’m uncertain if my injuries permit, as I need to undergo a knee operation first, only after the bicep operation has healed can I utilize crutches.
‘So I don’t think recovery will be in time sadly.’
Last month the broadcaster shared a video from his hospital bed where he told fans he has ‘two or three months’ of physiotherapy ahead.
He said: ‘Just woken up from my op.
Everything seems to have turned out fine, according to everyone’s reports, which means my bicep has been successfully reattached. I’ll need some physical therapy for the next couple of months, but I believe I’ll be as good as new and back at full strength eventually.
He noted, “One is completed, and only one remains for my knee.” He titled the video, “Completed – Many thanks to Dr. Ahrens and the entire medical team.
Nick and Luba lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.
In this performance, the pairs repeated their dance moves; Shayne and Nancy danced the Cha Cha once more to the song “Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)” by Sub Sub featuring Melanie Williams.
Then, Nick and Luba performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2.
Nevertheless, Nick, aged 62, managed to return to the competition after recovering from a shoulder and knee injury, but ultimately found himself eliminated by each of the judges: Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
When queried by Tess regarding his experience on the show, Nick expressed that he was genuinely taken aback by the extent to which he enjoyed participating in it, as well as by two unexpected occurrences.
He clarified: One factor is the level of care shown weekly, while another is the desire to avoid disappointing one’s partner.
‘The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.’
Luba remarked: “You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met in terms of determination, and you mentioned that doing your utmost would bring great joy for you. It seems to me that you have surpassed what is considered your best. Thanks a lot.
Nick revealed to Tess that Luba has been extraordinary and simply fantastic each day.
Apart from expressing gratitude to the main participants, I’d like to extend my thanks as well to the behind-the-scenes staff, the physiotherapists, everyone who played a crucial role in helping me make it through this week. Additionally, my fellow competitors have been truly remarkable and kind individuals, deserving of appreciation too.
‘There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.’
