Nick Cave’s Son Earl Stuns in Oversized Blazer at Saint Laurent Show

During Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, Earl Cave showcased a bold appearance at the Saint Laurent men’s fashion event.

As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but marvel at the impeccable fashion sense of Nick Cave’s son at that recent event. He turned heads with an eye-catching oversized blazer, effortlessly embodying style and swagger.

He paired the item with a grey shirt and some relaxed pinstripe pants, adorned with a beaded necklace as his accessory.

Prior to the performance at La Bourse de Commerce, Earl, who is 24 years old, accessorized with a pair of aviator sunglasses afterwards.

On the runway models were seen wearing wide shoulder blazers with contrasting leather details.  

Nick, along with his spouse Susie, shares Earl as a child, while he also has a son named Luke from his previous marriage with Viviane Carneiro.

Earl’s twin brother Arthur died in 2015, aged 15, after a cliff-jumping accident in Brighton. 

67-year-old singer-writer Nick has shared that he felt repulsed by his work following a close brush with death. He also disclosed that his family is now the primary source of inspiration for his creative pursuits.

During an open and comprehensive conversation, an Australian musician shared insights into his struggles with sorrow and heroin addiction on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs program.

His eldest son Jethro died aged 31 in Melbourne in 2022. 

At the tender age of nineteen, Cave experienced the tragic loss of his father in a car accident. Over the next twenty years, he fought a long battle with substance abuse until finally achieving sobriety on his sixth attempt at rehabilitation.

When speaking with host Lauren Laverne regarding a shift in his work perspective, Nick mentioned: ‘A significant factor is my companions Arthur and Jethro… Previously, I viewed art as essentially the pinnacle or ultimate goal.’

‘I mean, it’s a terrible thing to say, but it was, it was always there. It was always reliable.’

Known for hits like “Red Right Hand” and “Into My Arms,” this artist expressed that he would spend his days in an office, shut the door, and work diligently, feeling somewhat amazed by his own creative prowess.

After Arthur passed away, I simply closed down the office and didn’t return. It felt repulsive to me somehow. It appeared excessive or self-indulgent.

Although I continue to put in significant effort, I don’t view this as the ultimate purpose in life. My dedication to my children, wife, family, and community is what truly drives me. These roles serve as the source of our creativity.

Previously, Cave shared his heartache over the demise of his sons, and in the year 2018, he established a web platform titled The Red Hand Files, with one of its purposes being to assist individuals grappling with life-altering sorrow or despair.

He expressed his desire to communicate somehow that things don’t necessarily have to be as they are, and that there exists a realm beyond the sorrow they experience.

Previously, in a heartfelt missive, Cave expressed that ‘grief and love are deeply connected, with grief serving as a poignant testament to the depth of our affection. Much like love, grief cannot be compromised or negotiated away.’

Cave set up the Red Hand Files blog in 2018, where he chooses to answer one question a week.

He shared that he employs the Red Hand Files as a means to express his emotions and thoughts regarding Arthur’s demise. A stream of sorrow pervades the Red Hand Files, stemming from loss, and it seems to have significantly influenced his perspective on life.
