Nick Cannon is coming clean about why he can’t stand the term ‘co-parenting.’
In the latest installment of his captivating podcast, Nick Cannon @ Night, I found myself completely engrossed as the charismatic 44-year-old entertainer and host passionately delved into the topic at hand. This exploration was ignited by a thought-provoking question from a listener about X, previously known as Twitter.
In a surprising turn of events, Cannon found himself in this role given his unique family situation – being the father of twelve children by six different mothers. This circumstance makes him quite familiar with the term “co-parenting.
I’m eager to learn about Nick’s views on handling several co-parenting relationships while dating.”
“This is an intriguing scenario that could provide valuable advice for families with multiple sets of parents.
The individual, Cannon, who has recently faced criticism for starting a relationship advice podcast given his large number of children and multiple baby mamas, addressed the topic on his podcast by confessing that he’s had trouble with the term ‘co-parenting.’ Instead, he feels that using the simpler term ‘parenting’ would be sufficient.
Speaking further, he noted that using labels may do more harm than good, as it creates an initial impression in people’s minds about your actions without them fully understanding the context or intention behind it, which can be quite risky. (People magazine)

Despite having ample opportunity due to working with numerous kids, Cannon confessed that he hasn’t managed to crack the code or find a solution yet.
He admitted that he didn’t get everything perfect, but emphasized that by approaching each situation with respect, compassion, and a focus on individuality, he consistently maintains these values in his interactions with others in his life.
In a clear explanation, the host of Wild ‘N Out made it known that he prefers not to group or categorize the women he has fathered children with.
He clarified that he avoids using the term ‘my baby mamas’ in regular conversation, except when joking around.
I firmly believe that every person yearns for personal recognition rather than being categorized or labeled. What we truly desire is to be valued as unique individuals, with dignity and empathy. To elaborate further, I am the father of children shared among six remarkable women.
CANNON HAS SHARED TWINS MOROCCO AND MONROE WITH HIS FORMER WIFE, MARIAH CAREY, WHILE HE ALSO PARENTS THREE CHILDREN WITH BRITTANY BELL: SONS GOLDEN SAGON AND RISE MESSIAH, AS WELL AS DAUGHTER POWERFUL QUEEN.
Together, Cannon and Abby De La Rosa are parents to three lovely kids – twin boys named Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, along with their cherished daughter Beautiful Zeppelin.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that I’m blessed with a son named Legendary Love, whom I co-parent with the fabulous Bre Tiesi from Selling Sunset. Additionally, I am fortunate to have a beautiful daughter named Onyx Ice, who I share with the extraordinary LaNisha Cole.

In addition, Cannon became a father to two children with Alyssa Scott – a daughter named Halo Marie and a son named Zen. Unfortunately, little Zen passed away at the tender age of five months due to brain cancer in December 2021.
In a recent podcast conversation, the host of The Masked Singer (who has expressed the notion that getting a vasectomy is a prudent decision) was accompanied by comedian and drag artist Flame Monroe. During their discussion, she inquired about the camaraderie between all the female participants.
‘No!’ Cannon shot back. ‘Do you know six women anywhere that get along?’
After openly discussing his challenges with co-parenting, he confessed earlier this year that he might be contemplating limiting the size of his family. For a long time, he had maintained that he wasn’t prepared to stop having kids, but recent thoughts suggest otherwise.
In an unexpected twist during a March episode of their podcast “We Playin’ Spades,” hosts Ryan Clark (former NFL player) and Courtney Bee found themselves delving into a discussion about Ryan’s decision to undergo a vasectomy.
Nick, following Elon Musk’s announcement about his 13th child, seized the moment to express that the podcast seemed more like a heart-to-heart conversation or an attempt at guidance.
Courtney, one of his co-hosts, mentioned that it appeared as if there’d been a surge in news about Black men having vasectomies lately, leaving her curious if this was a recent trend.
Nick appeared to have a clear understanding when he shyly acknowledged that undergoing a vasectomy was the “prudent choice.

Despite acknowledging that it was a wise decision given his circumstances, he still stood firm in his resistance.
‘I’m just — I’m not done [having children],’ he added.
Another user, Channing Crowder, proposed an idea similar to yours – he thought that the experience of orgasm might be more intense without a vasectomy. However, as per Healthline, the medical procedure itself does not affect the sensations or enjoyment associated with it.
Ryan shared his own story about why he chose to have a vasectomy.
‘I wanted number four,’ he declared. ‘My wife told me she did not want number four.’
In simpler terms, the NFL player expressed that he needed to acknowledge this situation, and his wife communicated to him, “Since I gave birth to our children, it’s your responsibility to assist in preventing any more children from being born.
‘Wow, that’s an honorable man right here,’ Nick added.
In a later conversation, I found myself being queried about the possibility of welcoming another little one into our family circle, perhaps with one of the extraordinary mothers who’ve already blessed me with my offspring. The thought of extending our loving clan warms my heart immensely!

‘I don’t know. That’s the thing. I leave it to the Lord,’ he replied.
Back in 2023, during an interview with Dr. Laura Berman on her “Language of Love” podcast, the man I admire beyond words – Nick – expressed something truly profound. Instead of saying he lends such things to God, he put it beautifully as giving those kinds of gifts to a higher power. And about his children? He labeled them as miracles, leaving us all in awe at the deep love and appreciation radiating from his heart.
Instead of directly stating that God instructed him to cease having children, he suggested that only God would indicate when the appropriate time for stopping childbirth had arrived.
Nick previously spoke about the difficulties about spending enough time with all of his children.
In November of last year, he joked that he was a ‘busy man on Thanksgiving.’
During the December 2022 episode of The Checkup With Dr. Agus, he confessed that his greatest regret was not having enough time to spend with all of his children.
‘One, ’cause I’m constantly working, and two, because I’m just spread thin,’ he explained.
