Nicholas Hoult teases his take on Lex Luthor in new Superman movie
As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my gaming belt, I must say that the latest trailer for Superman has me absolutely thrilled! The casting choices, particularly Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, have me intrigued, especially given his portrayal seems to delve deeper into the character’s complexities.
Superman star Nicholas Hoult has given DC fans an insight into his iteration of villain Lex Luthor.
In the freshly unveiled preview for James Gunn’s upcoming superhero film, a glimpse is offered of Hoult’s villainous character, who has shaved his head. Hoult hinted that his portrayal of Lex offers more depth than initially perceived.
“Lex Luthor appears both intelligent and merciless, and he must find ways to outsmart Superman in specific areas since he can’t compete with him in others, as stated by Houlte in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
In discussing Lex Luthor’s struggle against Superman, Houlton hinted that Luthor’s reasons could potentially stir up feelings of understanding or compassion in the viewers.
He added that this character has a certain aspect which, from his perspective, allows us to see beyond the methods we might not approve of. There’s a part where we can grasp, at some fundamental level, why he believes in what he does and how it could potentially benefit humanity.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as the long-awaited movie, formerly known as Superman: Legacy, has finally unveiled a tantalizing teaser. In this intriguing glimpse, our hero, portrayed by David Corenswet, appears to be gravely injured following an undisclosed battle. Gasping for breath, he summons his loyal canine companion Krypto with a distinctive whistle, seeking refuge in what seems to be his sanctuary.
The clip also includes a scene where the superhero’s plainclothes alter ego, Clark Kent, gets a job at the Daily Planet and locks eyes with determined reporter Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan).
In the movie, Gunn highlighted the significance of journalism by pointing out: “It’s crucial to note that both characters are journalists, and Lois’ journalistic skills are on par with Superman’s role in saving the world.
It’s likely that Lois Lane will win respect from children everywhere due to her dedication to uncovering the truth and her courage.
Superman is released in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
