Niantic respond to feedback on Pokémon GO Gigantamax Battles
As a seasoned Pokémon GO player with years of battlefield experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a wave of relief and anticipation as Niantic announces changes to Gigantamax Battles. The last thing we needed was another weekend of sleepless nights trying to take down those monstrous creatures!
Big changes for Gigantamax Battles in Pokémon GO.
Niantic swiftly implemented modifications to the Gigantamax Battles in Pokémon GO, following a wave of criticism about their difficulty last weekend. The complaints were widespread on platforms like Reddit, X, and YouTube, and it appears that the developers have taken these concerns into account.
Starting this Halloween on Thursday, October 31st, the next round of Gigantamax Battles in Pokemon GO will begin! On that day, Gigantamax Gengar will make its appearance in the game. Afterward, no further Gigantamax debuts are planned until Toxtricity joins us during the Pokemon GO: Wild Area event in November.
Pokémon GO Gigantamax Battles to be made easier
Niantic is making it easier for future Gigantamax Battles by decreasing their challenge level slightly. Since smaller gaming groups were finding these battles quite challenging, any assistance will be warmly appreciated.
Niantic has emphasized that Gigantamax Battles should present a substantial challenge for trainers, encouraging them to think tactically. This means some trainers might need to heal, shield, and attack in each lobby, making these battles distinct from Raids which often only require tapping the screen.
It’s uncertain what the impact of “a small decrease” will be, but it’s encouraging that Niantic has shown readiness to modify this feature swiftly following its launch, indicating a responsive approach.
Stardust rewards significantly increased
Trainners may find it intriguing to note the adjustments in the rewards you acquire upon concluding a Gigantamax Battle within Pokémon GO. A recurring grievance about Dynamax and Gigantamax has been that Trainers often have to reinforce and upgrade Pokémons they’ve already strengthened numerous times. This is due to the fact that currently, existing Pokémons cannot Dynamax.
Due to the need for Stardust in battles against Gigantamax creatures like Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, trainers have been struggling. To alleviate this issue, Niantic is boosting the Stardust rewards for winning Gigantamax Max Battles. Now, trainers will receive 25,000 Stardust upon successfully completing a Gigantamax Max Battle.
This Stardust reward is quite substantial, and it can reach up to 37,500 if you’re using a Star Piece. The high payout is intended to signify the considerable investment required when enhancing your newly Dynamax Pokémon. Essentially, you’ll receive a good return for further empowering another Charizard.
Catch Rate also getting improved
As a devoted Pokémon Trainer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming adjustments from Niantic regarding the catch rates of Pokémon after battle. Excitingly, the elusive Gigantamax Gengar will have a more generous catch rate compared to the Kanto starters. Rest assured, Niantic assures us they’ll keep an eye on catch rates across other Gigantamax encounters to ensure that we continue to have a rewarding Pokémon catching experience!
