NHL 25 Announced for October Launch, Coming to Xbox Series X|S With New 'ICE-Q' Tech

As a lifelong hockey fan who has seen my fair share of pucks flying over the glass and slapshots ringing off the post, I am beyond excited for the release of EA Sports NHL 25! The prospect of controlling every inch of the ice with the new ICE-Q technology is simply exhilarating. And let’s not forget the Hughes brothers gracing the cover – talk about family tradition!

EA has revealed that EA Sports NHL 25 will go head-to-head on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 starting in October, bypassing Xbox One and PS4 this time around. The new version is fueled by ICE-Q technology, ensuring a smooth gameplay experience as you master every square inch of the ice rink. Additionally, an EA Play 10-hour trial will be accessible seven days before the official release date.

As a lifelong hockey enthusiast who has been playing NHL games since I was a kid, I can confidently say that this year’s edition is something truly special. For the very first time, siblings have graced the cover of an NHL game, and it’s none other than the Hughes brothers – Quinn from the Vancouver Canucks, Jack, and Luke from the New Jersey Devils. This is a significant milestone in the evolution of the gameplay intelligence that I’ve witnessed over the years.

The upcoming technology serves as the foundation for Chel’s significant gameplay revamp, featuring advanced ‘Next-Gen Vision Control’ skating for improved accuracy. With this innovation, you’ll be able to stride along the blue line, position yourself effectively against the puck carrier, and maintain a steady aim towards the goal. The Reactive Actions introduce more agile skaters through fresh animations, while other gameplay enhancements incorporate skill-based one-timers.

As a long-time hockey video game enthusiast with years of experience playing EA Sports NHL series, I am thrilled about the latest updates coming to HUT (Hockey Ultimate Team) in this year’s release. The new WOC Live Events structure promises more dynamic and engaging content for players, which I always appreciate as it keeps the game fresh and exciting.

In the upcoming game NHL 25, slated for release on October 4th for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, Franchise Mode will undergo an upgrade featuring a simplified Franchise Hub, along with numerous other enhancements. The Deluxe Edition of the game provides early access starting seven days before the official launch, as well as 4,600 NHL Points, a Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) Player Pack, and additional bonuses. If you pre-order the game before September 13th, you’ll also receive a bonus HUT Hughes Brothers Choice Pack with an overall rating of 84.
