Next Star Wars Jedi game will complete the trilogy
As a die-hard Star Wars fan who’s grown up with the saga, I can’t help but feel a tinge of nostalgia as I hear that the third Star Wars: Jedi game will be the last. Just like the original trilogy, the games have been a significant part of my life, providing endless hours of immersive, galactic adventures.
In the realm of Star Wars, both on-screen and in video games, the franchise is particularly recognized for its trilogies. Given this pattern, it’s not surprising that the final installment in the Star Wars: Jedi series will mark the end.
The as-yet-unnamed game, without a specified release date, will complete the trilogy of this game series. As reported by Gizmodo, Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment and Technology, recently hinted that the end is near, but it marks the culmination of a highly successful chapter.
According to Miele, we’ve produced some of the finest and most popular Star Wars video games ever made. Respawn Entertainment is diligently working to conclude this captivating saga for players with the upcoming release.
In the latest installment of the series titled “Jedi: Survivor“, the conclusion could be seen as a fulfilling wrap-up to the narrative. With Cal Kestis and his surviving comrades reunited, a significant menace was vanquished, and it seems a new crop of rebellion fighters may have been preserved for future battles.
It wasn’t just assumed, but rather widely guessed among players, that there would certainly be a third part to the game. The game felt much like ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, being the dark and ominous middle chapter in what seemed to be a trilogy, leaving room for a concluding happy ending.
Moreover, Cal’s tale remains incomplete. Many have pondered why he does not reappear in the broader narrative of Star Wars, despite being a potent Force-user with an unyielding desire to dismantle the Empire. If his role was crucial in the growth of the rebellion, one might wonder where he was during the moment when the Alliance decisively challenged the regime.
Given the significant time lapses between the recent game releases (approximately four years between 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order and 2023’s Jedi: Survivor), it seems we might need to hold on a bit longer for the next installment. However, considering the acclaim and success of the previous titles, there’s no question that the upcoming game will be worth the patience required.
