Fans of Green Lantern might have to wait a bit longer to see the new series featuring John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler). Originally planned for early 2026 on HBO, Lanterns is now expected to premiere sometime after DC Studios releases its next big summer movie.
Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter suggested in their Heat Vision newsletter that the Lanterns series would likely premiere after the Supergirl movie, which is scheduled for release in June 2026. After seeking confirmation, the hosts of The Lanterns podcast received word from The Hollywood Reporter that they now anticipate the HBO series will debut following the next DC Universe film.
