News Wire: CN VAs Replaced, More Extensive Dubs Planned
As a dedicated fan of Snowbreak, I’m both excited and disappointed by Seasun’s recent announcement regarding character voice talent recasts. On one hand, I’m thrilled to hear that the game will be expanding its story dubbing efforts, with plans to have the entire main story fully dubbed by the 1.5th anniversary. This is a great step forward for accessibility and immersion in the game.
I’ve excitedly kept up with Seasun’s updates, but recently, they shared some news that’s got me a bit bummed out as a gamer. They announced in a recent post that several of my favorite game characters’ Chinese voiceovers will be recast. Apparently, it’s because of scheduling conflicts, varying directions from different agencies, various regulations, and other factors. I’m curious to see how these changes will impact the games’ stories and experiences. The characters affected include: [List of characters]
- Marian
- Lyfe
- Tess
- Nita
- Haru
- Mauxir
- Fenny
- Fritia
- Acacia
- Siris
- Enya
- Chenxing
- Eatchel
As someone who has worked in the entertainment industry for over a decade, I can understand the importance of keeping certain information private to prevent unnecessary distractions and potential issues. Based on my experiences, I believe that keeping the identities of the replacement voice actresses a secret is a wise decision. The updating process of replaced voices is not an uncommon occurrence in this field, especially during anniversaries or major milestones in a project’s lifecycle. However, revealing their names publicly could lead to speculation, controversy, and even potential harm to their personal lives. It’s essential to respect the privacy and professionalism of these individuals, allowing them to focus on their craft without unwanted attention.
Instead of distributing 100 Digicash each as compensation to 13 players once a replacement is finished, amounting to a total of 1300 Digicash, there will also be an additional compensation of 300 Digicash for individual players, bringing the total Digicash given out to 1600.
In spite of this, Seasun intends to broaden the scope of the game’s story dubbing. By the game’s 1.5th anniversary, they aim to have the entire main story fully voiced over. Furthermore, they plan to eventually dub all Personal File cutscenes in their entirety as well.
