Newlyweds Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay say goodbye to family rift as they jet off on honeymoon after drama-filled wedding and a ‘cruel’ father of the bride speech that ‘outraged’ his mother

Adam and Holly Ramsay have escaped the recent family issues and are now enjoying their honeymoon, just two days after getting married.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I was totally stalking—I mean, keeping up with—the new couple, and I just saw them leaving Gordon Ramsay’s house! It was Monday afternoon, and they had SO much luggage—seriously, piles of it!—they were heading straight to the airport. I’m dying to know where they’re going! It’s probably some super romantic getaway, and I need details!

Adam and Holly are now happily married and have both updated their social media profiles to reflect their new shared name: Ramsay Peaty.

Thirty-one-year-old Olympic swimmer married 25-year-old influencer Holly at Bath Abbey on Saturday. The wedding has been marred by a long-running disagreement with the groom’s parents.

The long-standing feud between the two families has become more obvious since Adam removed them from his wedding guest list and his mother wasn’t included in Holly’s bachelorette party.

During his speech at the wedding, the bride’s father, Gordon, apparently made a harsh joke about the groom’s parents, which reportedly upset Adam’s mother, Caroline.

I was really surprised to read that Gordon weighed in on the situation with Megan and her family! Apparently, he thinks Tana would be a wonderful mother figure to them both, which is a sweet sentiment. But it’s also incredibly sad to hear that Adam has had to block his own family – it just shows how strained things are right now. It’s all just so heartbreaking to follow.

I was so touched by Gordon’s speech! He said Holly looked absolutely beautiful, and then turned to Adam, telling him what a lucky man he was. But the sweetest part? He pointed to Tana and said that’s the kind of future Adam and Holly have to look forward to. It was just perfect.

The article reports that Gordon made a hurtful comment to his daughter, Holly, about her father Adam’s parents, saying, ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same [parents].’

A family insider says Adam’s mother is deeply upset and offended that Gordon Ramsay brought up their long-standing family conflict during his speech at the wedding.

Caroline Peaty, excluded from the fancy event, thinks the famous chef intentionally made a hurtful remark about her.

A family member said Caroline was shocked and upset that Gordon discussed their personal issues in his speech, calling it outrageous and hurtful.

When he said Tana would be a good mother to their children, it implied Caroline wasn’t, which was a hurtful and unnecessary comment.

‘She has always done her best for all her children. She is a very good mum.

‘Who says this wasn’t pre-planned.?’

The source added: ‘We may not have much as a family but we have values.’

During his speech, Adam focused on his swim coach, Mel Marshall, calling her his biggest influence and source of inspiration. He didn’t mention his family or parents, but instead credited Marshall with keeping him grounded and motivated.

In an emotional moment he also reportedly said that he saw Mel ‘like a mum’ due to her support.

Caroline, a 60-year-old mother of four, and her husband Mark stayed inside their home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, throughout the wedding and reception.

Holly arrived at her wedding at Bath Abbey with her famous chef father, but she surprised guests by keeping her lace wedding dress hidden under a large, flowing ivory cloak.

Honestly, watching her walk down the aisle, I totally got why she seemed so anxious! The crowd was absolutely wild, and it was clear she was feeling the pressure before she even reached Adam. You could just feel the energy, and it wasn’t exactly calming!

The couple’s glamorous wedding hid a bitter family feud. The groom’s mother, and most of his relatives, weren’t invited to the ceremony, with accusations of elitism and social climbing fueling the conflict.

More than 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion, overwhelmed with grief at not being there for her son.

Standing in front of the house where he spent his childhood, Adam, 59, told The Mail on Sunday he wouldn’t allow himself to be hurt like that again.

She had told Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.

Just before Adam Peaty entered the abbey with his five-year-old son George, he received a heartbreaking text message from his aunt Louise, who hadn’t been invited to the wedding. This newspaper has learned the details of this message.

She wrote, expressing her hope that he would never experience the same intense pain he’d caused their mother. Despite everything, she still loved him, and she strongly condemned both of their actions, simply stating, ‘Shameful.’

On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother – a pain that continues to haunt her.

This family feud started in September 2024 when Adam and Holly didn’t invite many of their relatives to their engagement party, causing hurt feelings.

Caroline wasn’t invited to Holly’s fancy hen party last month at Soho Farmhouse, despite years of driving her son to training and the presence of guests like Holly’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.

Adam’s great-aunt Janet, 73, who wasn’t invited to the wedding either, shared with The Mail on Sunday that she feels deeply sorry for Caroline.

It’s shocking how he’s treating his mother, considering everything she’s done for him since he was young. It’s simply unkind.

Even though everyone was avoiding her and she was heartbroken, Caroline had warned she would still come to the wedding. If she wasn’t allowed inside the abbey, she said she’d wait outside and watch from the street.

She explained that she decided not to go because her husband, Mark, felt it would be too distressing for her.

If she hadn’t ignored her son’s order, she would have been stopped by five security guards stationed before the abbey’s old, intricately decorated wooden doors. These doors were framed by columns of white roses and hydrangeas.

For security, all guests – including David and Victoria Beckham – had to wear wristbands.

Oh my gosh, it was absolute madness outside the Abbey! Everyone was just trying to get a peek at her, and it was total chaos. I was there, of course, and honestly, it was a scrum just to see anything at all! It was wild!

Security surrounded the bride and her family, shielding them as they carefully made their way through the narrow space inside the historic building.

The Ramsays spent a lot of money on the wedding venue – normally around £2,500 for a single day – and reserved it exclusively to keep the ceremony completely private.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve learned that for many couples, sharing their beliefs is key to a meaningful wedding. In Holly and Adam’s case, Adam’s strong Christian faith meant they both really wanted a religious ceremony. It was lovely to hear that George, Peaty’s son from a previous relationship, was a special part of their day and played an important role in the service.

Holly’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Megan, 27, and Tilly, 24, along with Adam’s sister, Bethany. Bethany was the only member of Adam’s family invited to both the wedding and Holly’s pre-wedding celebration.

Family members mentioned Bethany was chosen as a bridesmaid because she seemed to naturally fit into the Ramsays’ sophisticated lifestyle.

Some viewed Bethany’s action – joining arms with Holly’s older sister and entering the abbey while carrying white lilies – as a deliberate act of rebellion against her family.

The bridesmaids all wore flowing red dresses created by Victoria Beckham. Victoria herself chose a teal dress from her own line, costing £1,290, and the bride’s mother, Tana, age 51, also wore a silk dress designed by Beckham – a dark green one.

Peaty, meanwhile, slicked back his hair and wore the same dinner suit as his new father–in–law.

No one revealed who designed Holly’s beautiful, floral lace dress. The designer remained a secret until Holly was safely inside the abbey, out of view of the cameras.

Aside from the noticeable lack of the bride’s father, the wedding ceremony went smoothly and the couple were married without incident.

The newly married couple left the church around 1:30 PM, greeted by celebratory bells from the abbey. They then drove to Kin House, a beautiful Georgian manor house about 17 miles from Chippenham, for their wedding reception.

The wedding reception included a delicious meal of prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and pan-roasted halibut, finished with tarte tatin. A traditional wedding cake was served later that evening at 8pm.

According to a source, Holly and Adam put a lot of careful planning into their event, and everything went exactly as they hoped. They were thrilled to finally share it with their guests.

Although the wedding ceremony and reception were kept very private, it’s probable that footage will appear in a future Netflix documentary focusing on the Ramsay family’s life.

Caroline Peaty might finally get to see her son’s wedding when it airs early next year – it could be the first time she’s seen it at all.
