James Packer, the Australian billionaire, was seen in New York City on Thursday having a casual dinner with his family. This came just a few days after he announced he’s engaged to his partner of many years, Kylie Lim.
The 58-year-old businessman had dinner at Mr. Chow in Tribeca, New York City, with his daughter and a few close friends.
Packer looked relaxed when he arrived, wearing a simple but stylish outfit: a dark jacket, pants, and polished dress shoes.

They just seemed so happy and relaxed as they headed into that fancy place. It was everything I hoped it would be – seeing them together like that!
The two seemed happy and relaxed as they walked in together, close by and talking comfortably. Packer was smiling as he went inside.
The businessman, originally from Sydney, was spotted having a lively and enthusiastic conversation with the group, indicating a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout the evening.
The Sydney businessman seemed to enjoy a relaxed and fun evening out in New York City, spending time with his daughter and friends.
This is the first time Packer has been seen in public since he announced he proposed to Lim.
The wealthy businessman recently proposed to Kylie Lim and is planning his third marriage.
The couple first dated from late 2017 until 2020, and then they got back together last year.
James Packer has confirmed the reports that his partner, 46-year-old former model and socialite, is engaged. She was seen wearing a noticeable ring on her wedding finger while shopping in Aspen, Colorado.
“We’re thrilled to be engaged and excited about what’s to come,” Packer shared with news.com.au while in Los Angeles.
It’s understood that no wedding date has yet been set.
James Packer has been engaged four times previously, to Kate Fischer, Jodhi Meares, Erica Baxter, and singer Mariah Carey.
He went on to marry Meares and Baxter, whom he had three children with.
James Packer and Kylie Lim began dating in 2017. They were set up by friends six months prior in Aspen, a place where Packer still co-owns a home with his former wife, Erica.
Rumors about an engagement started in 2019 when Lim was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand while on a romantic vacation with her partner aboard his yacht in Capri, Italy.
In 2020, the couple visited Sydney to see the $2.4 billion Crown Barangaroo casino, which was still under construction.
Packer has often acknowledged that Lim supported him during a difficult time after his divorce from Carey in 2016 and while he was struggling with addiction.
He also spent time in a Boston mental health facility for bipolar disorder and depression.
The billionaire confessed he had been in a ‘bad, bad way’.
In a 2019 interview, he shared that Kylie had a positive impact on his life and that he cared for her deeply.
In his 2018 biography, James Packer told author Damon Kitney that he considered Kylie a wonderful person and a great partner. He said they were building their relationship gradually and that he felt fortunate to have her in his life.
