New wife, same occupation! Sam Burgess’ second spouse Lucy follows in the footsteps of his ex Phoebe and becomes a fashion influencer
As a longtime observer of the glamorous and tumultuous world of professional sports, I must say that the love story of Sam Burgess and Lucy is a breath of fresh air. Having witnessed the highs and lows of athletes’ personal lives, it’s heartening to see a couple who have known each other since their teenage years reconnecting and starting a new chapter in their lives.
Lucy Burgess, née Graham, appears to have embarked on a new career.
The woman who just tied the knot with ex-NRL player Sam Burgess is now venturing into a fresh chapter of her life, focusing on becoming an influential figure in the world of fashion.
On my Instagram Stories, I proudly displayed my high-end outfit, cradling my precious little one in a sweet snap.
In a brief video, Lucy demonstrated an ensemble by Maquelle, the same brand she had tagged, as she spun around for the camera.
Apart from showcasing her outfit, the fashion designer also posted a picture of the beautiful woman wearing the $379 set, which includes the Rose Tie Cami, Rose Mini Skirt, and Maquelle Mini Bag in Stripes. The designer added, ‘She is absolutely stunning!’
Lucy, a hairdresser, seems to be treading a path similar to that taken by Sam’s ex-spouse, Phoebe Burgess, who began her career as an influencer more recently following her divorce from the retired football player.
It comes after Lucy shared photos of her Italian honeymoon with new husband in Rome.
After their wedding at a 17th-century Baroque villa filled with loved ones, the new couple enjoyed a five-day trip in Rome, Italy.
Lucy described the one-week honeymoon as ‘pure magic’.
On Monday, a collection of personal photographs and videos featuring Lucy and Sam, along with their 10-month-old daughter, Robbie, exploring an old city as tourists, were uploaded to social media platforms.
The happy pair enjoyed exploring, eating, walking, and shopping around ‘Roma’. It seems they snapped numerous selfies to preserve those cherished moments.
Sam’s current spouse is a 33-year-old hair stylist and fashion creator hailing from Leeds, England, whom he has been acquainted with since his adolescence. They are proud parents to their child, Robbie, who was born in September 2023.
Sam grinned from ear-to-ear as he entertained his new bride and young daughter in the selfies taken at various lavish restaurants, hotel suites, and tourist attractions.
In a turn of events, the former wife of a prominent NRL player, Phoebe Burgess, was advised by columnist Jana Hocking to forgo using the footballer’s last name.
Hocking expressed it straight-forwardly: “It’s high time to let go of the memories of past husbands,” she wrote in her Daily Mail Australia Mail+ column.
She confirmed that she was referring to your Instagram account “@mrsphoebeburgess”. She then suggested that maintaining this name might give the impression that Phoebe is still clinging to the past, as it appears her ex-husband has clearly moved on.
In the year 2015, Sam tied the knot with his former spouse, Phoebe. They parted ways towards the end of 2018, but in early 2019, they rekindled their relationship.
They split permanently on October 2 that year and later divorced.
Phoebe relocated to Bowral along with her kids, as Sam found himself entangled in various legal issues stemming from the dissolution of his marriage.
At the time, he was cleared on appeal of intimidating his former father-in-law, Mitch Hooke.
In 2021, during an extensive chat with journalist Mia Freedman on the No Filter podcast, the influencer was questioned about potentially altering her name.
Phoebe shared with the Mamamia founder that while her passport and email address currently bear the surname Hooke, she prefers to share the same last name as her kids.
She mentioned that she takes her children to school daily, has a large sign on her vehicle displaying the surname ‘Burgess’, and since that is her kids’ name too, she believes it’s fitting for her to share the same last name with them.
In October 2022, the sports celebrity was most recently spotted enjoying a meal at a restaurant with his kids, as he shared an image of them playfully seated on his lap.
Phoebe referred to her choice as joining a “family group” and making a “personal selection,” noting that this was true even though she has since gotten divorced.
She declared resolutely, “I’m taking responsibility for it, because this is my journey, and it reflects my past.
1) At that moment, my choices were sincere and wholehearted, and now, it feels as if I wear the remnants of those choices with a touch of honor. (Paraphrased for natural and easy-to-read language)
That decision was thrust back into the spotlight last month when the NRL great re-married.
The caption for their wedding video says, “Lucy and Sam first crossed paths when they were fifteen years old, but life led them down separate paths; however, it seemed destiny had other ideas.
Over the span of an exciting weekend, the grandiose wedding ceremony for the couple was held, consisting of a welcoming dinner, the actual nuptials, a lively reception, and ultimately concluding with a laid-back poolside recuperation party.
2022 saw the unveiling of Lucy’s identity when she accompanied the former South Sydney Rabbitohs legend to the world premiere of Russell Crowe’s movie “Poker Face” held in Rome, as his date.
I’m utterly smitten! As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share that this captivating visionary, hailing from England, stands as one of the masterminds behind the eco-friendly fashion powerhouse, Sentenced. This revolutionary label made its grand debut in the fashion world back in September 2019.
As a former member of the iconic British girl group, The Ultra Girls, I had the privilege of gracing stages alongside them during their peak fame in 2009, when we made waves on The X Factor UK. More recently, it was an honor to share a stage with them once more at my wedding reception, marking a memorable reunion for us all.
Last June, the ex-Rabbitohs player put forward a proposal to Lucy, who he had been publicly dating for only nine months prior.
Previously, it became known that he was very anxious when he proposed to the stylish hairstylist.
On Saturday at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Phoebe stepped out for an uncommon public event – Derby Day.
‘Heading in to the most spectacular Birdcage marquee,’ she said on her Instagram Stories.
At the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the Birdcage area is a venue of extraordinary opulence, where high-profile patrons generously provide exclusive seating and amenities to Australian socialites, businesspeople, influencers, and up-and-coming celebrities without holding back their resources.
Phoebe donned a rustic-style, frilled dress with long bell sleeves, a side split, and a knotted belt adorning its front.
The fabric was pure white, adorned with intricate lace patterns, and featured a stylish open-neck design. Phoebe’s admirers playfully remarked that she looked stunning in white.
